Arius POV

Big sis bandaged up my cheek and served me lemon meringue pie. 'It was absolutely worth getting hit.'
I was literally on cloud nine, enjoying the sour and sweet goodness in front of me.

'I'll go to the library afterwards, I wanna read something new, and I can eavesdrop on the gossip going around in the mansion.' The best way to get information about the outside world without anyone else noticing you, is to listen to the maids. Besides, I had already read all the books in my shelves.

'I'll need to ask big sis switch out some books in the library, with the books in my shelves.'

After I finished my pie, I got out of my room and went to the library. On the way there, I asked a maid to tell big sis about my whereabouts. As I walked, I could hear the whispers and see the concerned glances of the staff:

"Poor young master, look at the bandage on his cheek!"
"A gardeners told me that the young duke and young miss had passed him, just minutes before the young master greeted them with a pale smile and an injury on his cheek."
"I was there, when he came back. Ophelia had forced him to tell her the truth, and the young master admitted to her that it was the young miss's doing."
"What?! I knew that she wasn't nice at all, but to hit a small child -and her little brother- like that!"
"I know, and doesn't seem to have held back at all. The young master's lip was busted, what a brute!"
"The poor young master even tried to justify her actions, even though he was clearly shaken by this! What an angel."
"And why didn't the young duke interfere? He's no better at all!"
"Even the grand duke only slightly lowered the lady's monthly allowance. That's not enough at all, what's their problem?!" (A/n: that, I cannot answer you, either.)

'Good, the staff seems to be quite passionate about it. They're truly amazing...' their concern for my well being and their protectiveness brought a smile to my face. A true, warm smile. 'I will provide for every last one of you, when the time comes.'

I walked up to one of them and tugged on her sleeve."Um, excuse me, could you please accompany me to the library? I don't want to be alone for too long and I fear that there may be books that I'm unable to reach. Sister Ophelia doesn't allow me to climb up the ladder yet."

The maid quickly turned to me and smiled excitedly... are those stars in her eyes? Anyways, I saw the other two maids giving her jealous looks. Am I really that popular?

"Of course, young master. It'd be my pleasure, my name is Lilith."

Hm, what a pretty name

Hm, what a pretty name. "Nice to meet you, sister Lilith. I'm Arius. What are your names?", I asked the other two maids for their names. My family doesn't really care about knowing the staff's names, I'm the only one who doesn't just refer to them as 'you'.

"My name is Yona, young master."
