005. you are in love

in the back seat i hum to the beat of meet me in the hallway by harry styles with tara. in the car was carrington and jake, we decided to go on a couples date without the others.

we were going to my house in jacksonville, flordia and we were driving back to it from the airport. tara and jake were having some problems so we all thought it was best that we just forget about all that and leave california.

as soon as the song ends we pull into the driveway, i smile brightly missing the house i used to visit frequently as a child.

it was around 11:30 pm, and the jet lag was getting to us. i step out the car after repacking everything into my car bag.

i walk around to the truck and see that jake already opened it, handing tara her bag. she gives him a tired smile and walks over to open the garage.

jake turns to me, handing my bag to me too. i grab the snack bag as-well and start to walk in with tara.
after i put in the code so the alarm stops i set down the snack bag in the kitchen and my suitcase in me and carringtons room.

i walk back out into the humid night air, grabbing a cooler and looking for anything else i can help with. however carrington sees me and tells me to go back inside, and i do.

i walk past tara and jake's room, seeing tara already passed out just laying on the bed. i smile to myself and walk back into my shared room.

i shuffle through my suitcase and grab a swimsuit, it was a tradition to do a first night here swim everytime.

after i'm changed i walk back out to the living room, walking towards the back door. "cami what are you doing" carrington questions me.

i see jake walk into his room and close the door, i guess he was going to bed now too. "i'm going swimming, it's the first night remember" i ask.

he nods his head and walks into our room well i head outside. i set down the towel i grabbed and put my hair up, trying to not get it wet.

walking over to the pool i dip my feet in, easing myself into the water. i swim over to the deep end and sit down on the seating spot.

i was enjoying the humming of the bugs when i hear the back door open. i didn't turn around, i knew it was carrington.

he lowers himself down into the spot next to me, "hey cami" he smiles wrapping an arm around me. i smile back and lean into him.

"i love florida, i'm so happy we're here" i rest my head on his shoulder, and he lays his head on mine. he smiles, "i know it's all you ever talk about, when are we going back this when are we going back that" he says attempting to mimic my voice.

i giggle a little as he continues, "and tara and jake are here? we are gonna have a great time i know it"  he smiles. "yea but do you think it's a little awkward right now, they're kinda having problems what if it ruins the trip" i question.

"no they'll work it out, i know they will" he nods his head reassuringly. we sit in a comfortable silence for a few moments, watching the stars light up the dark night and listening to the bugs hum.
