Cloaked in the shadows, seven masked figures perched in the rafters of a warehouse on the docks of Ninjago City. Flush lamps hung from the grid of metal support beams, throwing dim yellow light down over the endless rows of shelves below.

The Mechanic lumbered back and forth down a strip of walking space between two shelves, barking orders to his henchmen. The henchmen in question were scattered around the warehouse, tearing through the sea of electronics in search of something.

"What are we looking for, Boss?" one questioned finally, breaking the silence.

The ninja subconsciously leaned in to hear the Mechanic's response. In all honesty, they weren't sure what all the fuss was about either— that was what they were here to find out. Before arresting the whole circus of trespassers, of course.

The Mechanic suddenly broke away from his usual straight path and retrieved a rectangular cartridge from a pile of similar parts. "This is it. A needle in a haystack," he declared so quietly the ninja strained to hear. He held it up to the light, eye practically shining in awe. "A very, very valuable needle."

At Lloyd's signal, Jay zapped the fuse box with a fork of electricity. It wasn't enough to damage the building's power system, but in a matter of moments, the ceiling lights began to wink out row by row. Darkness flooded the warehouse.

As the intruders scrambled to regain their bearings in the unexpected blackness, the ninja dropped down to the cement ground without so much as a sound. "Sorry to crash the party, boys!" Nya said, making the nearest thug practically leap out of his skin as her voice came from nowhere.

"Guess our invitations got lost in the mail, huh?" added Jay. He reached for his kusarigama.

Lloyd stretched his arm out to stop him. "No weapons, guys. These are just low level thugs."

"My fists are my weapons," Cole said, punching the air.

"I would not classify the Mechanic as low-level," Zane stated. "He's suspected in thirty-six unsolved criminal cases."

The Mechanic grinned, red eye glowing through the darkness. "Thirty-seven," he corrected the nindroid. In an instant, his mechanical arm shot out and punched Zane into a pile of empty cardboard boxes.

"You're not getting away that easy!" Jay cried.

"Who's trying to get away? There are more of us than you!" the Mechanic said confidently. "And we're not afraid to use our weapons."

Fire blossomed out from his iron arm, illuminating the dark warehouse. Lloyd jumped back to avoid it.

"I have no problem using these!" Jay declared, scooping up an armful of floppy disks and flinging them at the Mechanic. "Take that, you obsolete file formats!"

Y/n ducked around the Mechanic's flamethrower and kicked the motherboard out from his other hand. It soared back toward the ninja.

Kai dove and caught it with a grunt as he hit the floor. Immediately, the Mechanic's henchman pounced on him. They struggled for possession of the motherboard in a cartoonish clump. Kai broke free from the scuffle to fling the circuit board. It landed amongst the shelves, where another thug scooped it up.
