❇ Toviella ❇

“I swear, this is one of the reasons why Saffron is the best school ever.”

You must've met my friend, Yu-ri, who sees the good in everything.

“See how it's so good looking, I almost don't want to eat it.”

Well, everything that had to do with food. In fact anything and everything eatable.

And I'm not even kidding.

“I mean, look at this.” She gestured to the macarons, hamburger and strawberry slurpee that was placed on the white satiny table before her, eyes gleaming with so much excitement.

“Seconded.” Trissi chirped in. “It's totally aesthetic-worthy.”

You know how a person's mood can literally affect yours when you care for that person so much? That's what happened when Yu-ri's eyes lighted up again. I couldn't help but giggle.

“Ouh!" She beamed again, bouncing up and down on the bench, “Let's take pictures!”

Without waiting for Trissi's reply, she pulled out her phone and got to work, taking pictures of the food first, then of her and Trissi afterwards.

Absentmindedly, I continued twirling the straw that stuck out above the transparent container of my chocolate milkshake which didn't last for up to two minutes before Yu-ri and Trissi pulled me from beside them to join in the picture taking.

I wanted to refuse at first, but knowing my friends, they would keep on pestering me till I oblige.

It was awkward as hell, since I rarely took pictures. It was so difficult finding the right pose unlike Trissi and Yu-ri who were absolute naturals. At the end, I just settled with a forced smile that didn't reach my eyes and two raised fingers, indicating the peace sign.

I tilted my head a bit to see the outcome after we were done, and surprisingly, it wasn't bad. I  wasn't bad.

“Melanin drippin'!” Trissi hyped, eyes trained on the phone in Yu-ri's hand, “Don't forget to tag me when you upload it on insta, 'Kay?”

“Sure.” Yu-ri said. “I'll also tag you too, Tovi.”

I gave a small nod, withdrawing to continue with my food. Social media wasn't something I was very active in, so whether I was tagged or not, didn't really matter.
