♤TOVIELLA♤

It was odd feeling relief wash over me at the sight of Samaira conversing happily with the girls in our seat. I couldn't pinpoint why I felt that way but it was definitely not because Aldric was headed in the direction I was coming from, with the aim of meeting with Samaira in the clinic, probably.

Nope. That wasn't the case at all.

It was absurd for it to be.

Just as absurd as the feelings the said boy aroused in me. Feelings that defied rational explanation. Feelings powerful like wave crashes but soft and warm like summer breeze. Feelings that set me ablaze in the softest of flames, consuming every part of me each time my mind automatically replayed our earlier encounter.

And that was very, very often.

Nevertheless, I avoided my thoughts from wandering to him and convinced myself that the effect he had on me were only temporary and would wear off soon.

"Hey, girls." I cut into their laughter, dipping myself into my unoccupied seat, and dropping my bag by my side. "Whaddup?"

They didn't respond. Just stared back at me with question and concern etched on their faces. I was about to ask what was wrong when I realized they weren't actually staring at my face but my head. And that was when Yu-ri popped the question.

"What happened to your head, Tovikins?"

Shit. My mind had been so occupied with a certain hot, gray-eyed boy that I forgot to cover up the bump with my braids. No wonder the stares I earned. Urghh, this was all the fault of Aldric's effect.

A nervous laugh eluded my lips, my hands reflexly adjusting my braids to hide the sore. "Oh this? It's nothing. I just hit my head somewhere. Silly me. I'm totally fine. Nothing to worry y'all's pretty head about." I was suprised my words didn't tumble over each other with how fast I spoke and the overly awkward, dry laugh that followed did everything but make me look believable.

They didn't believe me. It was for the briefest of seconds I saw doubt flicker across their faces. But they trusted me and wanted to take my word for it. Like they always did.

"It must still hurt a lot," Samaira spoke, her voice soft and sympathetic. "and you haven't given it a proper treatment, else it would have reduced a lot since yesterday. You should come to the clinic during break. I'll do that for you. Okay?"

And with the smile and nod I offered, the case had been closed. Like always.

Vanilla, being her ever sarcastic self, chimed in. "See when you're coming to school. Queen of lateness, I hail thee."

I gave her a wide smile. "Thank you, my loyal subject but I arrived much earlier. I had just been with Somadina."

"That boy and his temper sha. Hope he is stable now?"
