Binh was in a generous mood today. Kit had practically jumped to come at a run when Binh had asked both her and Monique if either of them wanted to come and help 'Jenny' feel pretty for a date. Monique would have been just as capable and willing to help, but she had a lunch date planned with the latest girl she was seeing. A nursing student. A hot body, smart mind, and a willingness to help others was just too much for Monique to consider cancelling her preestablished plans.

Monique did make Kit promise to give her absolute best wishes to Jenny, and swore Kit that she would tell Monique everything about how Jenny was doing right now. A fair deal that had left everyone satisfied.

Monique was going to end up with a generous tip on a table that she wouldn't be able to trace for the kindness and gracious nature today. Binh hoped that she might use the unexpected windfall to spoil her latest lover, nurses were the backbone of human medicine. Binh had seen this first hand while Ariel had been in hospital. The few nurses Ariel had liked had mysteriously inherited or won large sums of money. Odd thing that, Binh thought to himself with a smile. Binh was the type to reward kindness where it bloomed naturally.

Kit had not even flinched as she entered her bosses penthouse for the first time and seen a large raven sat on the back of a chair. Kit had kept her background very close to her chest, never speaking of it out loud. Binh knew her nightmares.

Kit knew a familiar when she saw one, she just wasn't certain if it was Binh or perhaps 'Jenny' Who had the magic. It didn't matter, a true familiar in a home meant respect was deserved, and so Kit had played a part she knew so well. Happy that either the most generous and thoughtful employer she had ever known had magic at his aide, or the saddest and most scared person she had ever met had a secret well of power behind her.

The longer Kit stayed in the penthouse, working on Ariel's hair, and then her makeup, the more she began to believe that both Binh and Ariel had secrets they had not shared. Which Kit knew she had no right to feel any way about when she herself had always kept her own secrets.

Knowing that both Binh and Ariel were keeping secrets, made Kit hope that perhaps, these were friendships she could develop. One where she could talk about the things she had seen and experienced while growing up. Talk about the spirit she had fled from who powered her Mimi's magic and power. All the spirit had wanted was to sow discord and strife in as many hearts as possible. Kit couldn't bear to stay knowing that power would be her destiny.

The hours ticked on. Ariel asked Binh for snacks for herself and kit. Through messages on her phone, which were provided mere moments after a message was sent. The door barely opening enough to accept the offered food before it closed again. Keeping the bathroom turned salon a private sanctuary.

Binh took out his phone. Sending an email to both twins at once, warning them that they better have an acceptable perch for a raven on premise. Three Hours Past Midnight cawing his approval at being included. He needed to pass his own judgement on these wolf brothers that wanted to stake their mate bond claim on Ariel. She was a treasure and wonder, and Three Hours Past Midnight was more than a little protective of her after laying his own life down so many times to save her.

Reluctantly, Three Hours Past Midnight flew through the ope terrace door when they heard the back bedroom door open, followed by the sound of Kit pushing Ariel down the hallway in her wheelchair. Binh felt a strange fluttering emotion in his heart as Kit wheeled a freshly made up Ariel into the living room. Wearing her new dress, her hair returned to what Binh assumed must be close to her natural color. It looked almost identical to the shade her hair was when they had first met. Except for the fresh red highlights hiding in the lengths of hair behind her ears towards the back of her head.

Kit had done an expert level makeup application. Ariel looked beautiful and like herself. Binh felt his unneeded breath hitch in his throat for just a moment, seeing Ariel looking healthier and happier than he had seen since before her accident. Binh felt like he knew fresh air for the first time in what felt like forever.

Then, Ariel had smiled at him. "I look okay right?" Kit and Ariel had talked all afternoon, and not once did Kit make Ariel feel like she was strange, or unusual. Ariel had been able to talk about being nervous about her date tonight. And Kit had listened, given good advice. Bolstered Ariel's confidence. Kit had managed to even keep her face straight when Ariel confessed that it was technically a date with two men. Kit had been everything Ariel needed.

"You look beautiful." Binh said, wanting to use her name. But unaware that Ariel had already shared her name.

Kit smiled, Binh truly was as good as he seemed to be. "Ariel is going to knock her dates off her feet isn't she?" Kit teased to Binh. Making him truly smile in gladness. Ariel had already told Kit her name and truth of her date this evening. The afternoon had exceeded his optimism. A rare occurrence.

Binh made eye contact with Ariel. "Her dates will indeed be left breathless. Thank you Kit, for offering to help." Binh's respect for his long term employee had increased greatly. Kit was a good person from top to bottom. A rare gem. It was desperately unfair in Binh's eyes that her life had been so rough as to lead her all the way to him. Looking at Kit and Ariel together. Both so clearly comfortable in each others presence, even without knowing much about each other, told Binh so much more about each of the women in front of him.

Ariel was smiling up at him, Her broken arm hidden under the sleeve of her dress, her hair looking beautiful, falling is soft waves around her face and down her back. The fire engine red highlights a cheeky surprise. Ariel was as beautiful outside as Binh knew she had always been inside.

Kit softly kissed Ariel's cheek. "We'll talk soon, knock 'em dead girl." She bid Ariel, letting herself out of Binh's penthouse. Firmly deciding that Beth-Ann was stupid for ever thinking there was something sexual Between Binh and Ariel. Kit didn't quite know exactly what was going on, but the way he looked at Ariel tonight was not sexual.

Kit was going to need to dissect this afternoon with Monique ASAP. Monique was practically beside herself since Ariel's accident, knowing the last time Monique had seen Ariel she had teased the shiest of the waitresses, trying to flirt her hardest just to get a reaction.

Monique regretted her actions, had secretly worried that her actions had been part of what must have unsettled "Jenny" so much that day that she had inadvertently walked into traffic. Full of shame and guilt that she knew in her logical mind wasn't real, but the trauma of being raised of christian fundamentalist parents who drilled into your head that everything bad that happened was because you had sinned, were born with sin, and would be damned by sin.

When loving who you loved was considered an abomination. Monique had needed extra sessions with her therapist since the accident. Trying to remind herself that bad things didn't happen because she had flirted with an oblivious girl for fun.  Sometimes bad things just happened because the world was unfair.
