Pandora made a show of saying goodbye to Chuck, running through a long list of dos and don't rules for her parents to follow while she allowed Tom a chance to arrange a date for her. It had been a while since he had shown her enough adoration, and in her current condition Pandora felt like she was owed compensation.
She hated being pregnant. Fat, and swollen, everything in her body ached, and she didn't even have the gift of a wolf to help her body heal and remain strong during the process now. The only thing she liked about being pregnant was that generally most people were kinder to an obviously pregnant lady.
Wearing a high necked, sleeveless body con midi length dress in a striking deep burgundy, Pandora promenaded. Comfortable while still being stylish black ankle booties on her feet Pandora looked radiant. Her ebony hair falling in perfect waves down her back. Cheeks rosy and the glow only mothers to be were capable of having. The scar on her neck hidden by the strategic dress. She was beautiful tonight.
Once they were outside, and away from Pandora's parents. Tom had taken her hand in his, kissed the back of her hand. "I don't deserve a mate as beautiful as you Pandora." He told her, meaning every word from the bottom of his heart.
Pandora knew Tom was being serious, and while she disagreed with him, feeling fat, and knowing she was permanently disfigured, Tom was soft, and he did love her. "Thank you Tom." Was all she said, instead of the million other thoughts she had.
Tom kept up small talk and banter the entire walk to the resort. Undaunted by Pandora's one word at best replies to his overtures. She just needed a meal that would excite her and some pampering and she would be in a better mood.
Plus Lumi had promised Tom that she had a gift for Pandora that Lumi was certain Pandora would love; and her friend would arrive close to tonight's barbeque. Pandora hadn't been as bright and happy in ages as she was when Bee was around. Tom had seen the signed clearance background check with Marisol's signature himself, allowing him to cautiously hope that Bee could be the lynch pin in Pandora finally finding happiness. Especially back on Golden Green, with her family all coming together. Tom's biggest flaw was being nearly fatally optimistic.
Pandora and Tom were met at a sheltered VIP door, following a path Lumi had arranged, Pandora would be seen getting preferential treatment at the high end luxury resort, all while the scar on her neck was on the opposite side of everyone she passed along her way to the booth her and Tom would share their meal in.
A well paced seasonal tasting menu enjoyed over two hours with custom made non-alcoholic cocktails for Pandora punctuating the expertly crafted meal. At the end Pandora was as full as she could be without feeling uncomfortable, and more than ready for some pampering.
Tom and Pandora were ushered from their table by a respectful resort employee. Starting with his and hers pedicures. Per Lumi's instruction and the custom contract she had sent over, Pandora and Tom were to be spoiled head to toe before this evening.
Lumi was checking in on how the spa and beauty treatments progressed. Once Pandora had selected a color of polish for her toe nails, the esthetician well into the process, Lumi teleported through to the other side of the spa room door. Knocking before slowly entering.
All the staff had been warned this was part of the plan. An extra generous tip had been included for those in the room at this critical moment.
Hazard pay.
There was no way to know how Pandora would react. One of the supposed esthetician's was a hidden succubi incase anyone needed to be teleported out of harms way.
Lumi wished she could have told Tom what her final goal was, but Lumi knew Tom was too soft and would never be able to hide anything from Pandora. Just having Lumi help Tom spoil Pandora occasionally was more subterfuge than the lion could reasonably handle.
"Hello Pandora." Lumi said softly, slowly opening the door, watching the cascade of emotions roll across Pandora's face.
Annoyance from the knock interrupting her first.
Then indignation when none of the staff jumped quickly enough to placate Pandora for the interruption to her fantasy time.
Then a white hot rage when it was revealed that Lumi was the reason for the interruption. The intensity of the anger only increasing when it was clear that all the staff appeared to have had advance warning of this encroach on Pandora's privacy before it had happened.
Everything had been a trap Pandora realized. Lumi had arranged everything Pandora had been enjoying, none of this was real it was just another manipulation of her family. Carried out by everyone's favorite.
Pandora moved like she was going to stand and bolt. However that plan was foiled by her own pregnancy induced off balance center of gravity and a complicated pedicure chairs with built in foot soak baths.
Lumi offered her hand out towards Pandora, "Don't get up, please Pandora I have a gift? You just need to want to accept it from me. I'll deliver it and leave you and Tom to continue enjoying the spa?" Lumi kept her voice soft and neutral. She had never tried to talk to a wild dangerous animal but she imagined it would be as nerve wracking as talking to Pandora. Waiting to see if Pandora would take her hand.
Pandora looked towards Tom who thankfully managed to look bewildered at seeing Lumi in person. Lumi hoped Pandora didn't suspect him of having any part in today. Grumbling something about how Lumi owed her and then all went quiet in the room as Pandora took her sister's hand.
It only took a moment. Lumi just wanted to heal the burned and scarred marks on Pandora's neck. It only took a few counted seconds. Lumi gasped and dropped Pandora's hand just as Tom excitedly squealed. "Princess!" Scrambling around the room looking for a hand mirror.
One of the spa attendants had been warned to have a suitably elegant and expensive looking hand mirror readily available. Quickly handing it to Tom, who passed it to Pandora. Lumi was doing her best to keep her breathing under control. Keep herself calm. This was a good thing, surely Pandora would be happy now.
Thankfully, the spa workers were so enthralled by the healing, and Pandora and Tom were celebrating together, Pandora's eyes locked on her reflection as she ran her finger tips over the new, smooth, unblemished skin. Smiling as she made eye contact with Lumi. Managing to give her sister a sincere thank you.
Lumi mumbled something like a your welcome. But Pandora was already moving on to planning what she could wear tonight, and insisting that she was going to need a casual updo style for the barbeque tonight. Returning to her normal self, and barking at the staff to return to what they were doing before Lumi "Rudely barged in." Lumi was already back out in the hall, closing the door.
Sebastian appeared beside Lumi. Looking her over head to toe. She was extra pale and looked like she had seen a ghost. He was about to open his mouth and ask her what was wrong, worried that perhaps Lumi's magic had not been able to undo the scar on Pandora's neck after all. Except Lumi shook her head as his lips began to move. "Not here, we need to find my fathers." Intuitively knowing she did not mean the wolf fathers.
Lumi and Sebastian moved quickly to an unused ballroom, teleporting immediately to Caspian's study. Where thankfully, he and Aspen were both already present. "There is something wrong with Pandora." Lumi blurted out the moment she stepped out of the gateway into her fathers study.
Sebastian, Aspen, and Caspian all turned to look first at Lumi, then her father's eyes went towards the back of the room, behind Lumi, where Cassian had been arranging a bookshelf. Everyone in the room now looking sufficiently shocked.
"Fuck." A rare swear from Lumi punctuated the moment.
