"There's a carnival happening tonight; we should go," Kelly suggested excitedly as they lounged on Kelly's bed in her dorm room. With their classes done for the day, they had decided to tackle their homework together in a more relaxed setting.
"I love carnivals! I'm so down," Aaliyah responded with equal enthusiasm, putting the finishing touches on her English essay. The prospect of lively rides, carnival games, and the bustling atmosphere was a delightful change from their academic routine.
After completing their assignments, they made their way to the carnival grounds. Amidst the twinkling lights and merry music, Aaliyah immediately spotted some familiar faces from SAMCRO, including a woman affectionately entwined with Clay Morrow. Aaliyah presumed her to be Gemma Teller-Morrow, Jax's mother, whom she was about to meet for the first time.
As they approached, Jax noticed them first and waved them over enthusiastically. Aaliyah greeted him nervously, pulling a curious Kelly along with her.
"Hey guys!" Aaliyah beamed as she approached Tig, Jax, Juice, Bobby, and Clay. Her gaze then turned to Gemma, but before she could say anything, Gemma spoke up.
"You must be Aaliyah Williams, Donna's little sister. Opie talks a lot about you; feels like I know you already," Gemma said warmly, her eyes sparkling with familiarity.
Aaliyah nodded, feeling a sense of warmth at Gemma's welcoming demeanor. "Yes, that's me. It's wonderful to finally meet you, Gemma," she replied sincerely, extending her hand.
Gemma shook her hand firmly. "Likewise, sweetheart. Donna has mentioned you," she said with a knowing smile.
Just then, Aaliyah noticed Juice's intense gaze fixed on Kelly, who stood beside her, looking around with wide-eyed wonder at the carnival.
"This is my friend Kelly," Aaliyah introduced, noticing Juice's mesmerized expression. It seemed like he was captivated by Kelly at first sight.
"Nice to meet you," Kelly said shyly, offering a small wave.
Juice blinked, snapping out of his reverie. "Uh, yeah, nice to meet you too," he managed to say, his voice slightly husky. "We're gonna go ride some rides," Aaliyah announced cheerfully as she took Kelly's hand. "I'll catch up with you all later. It was great meeting you, Gemma."
Aaliyah and Kelly strolled away together, sharing giggles as they headed towards the carnival rides. Aaliyah couldn't resist teasing her friend about Juice's obvious interest in her.
"You're one to talk," Kelly teased with a playful nudge. "The blonde one, Jax, right? He was staring at you like you hung the moon and stars."
Aaliyah felt a warm flush spread across her cheeks as Kelly's words sunk in. She hadn't been aware of Jax's gaze, which made her blush even more.
