Snow.

She understood what he was referring to and it was magical. It was coating all of New York like a light layer of frosting. The effect it had was breathtaking as they landed and Laney jumped around excitedly over the snow. Making snow angels, drinking hot cocoa, it was only the end of September but she was already ready for the holiday season to begin.

Despite the waves of nausea she kept having to suppress or blame on food poisoning from Miranda's (sorry Miranda), she was excited for New York. Last time they were together in New York, they were only passing through to get to MetLife Stadium.

Getting off the plane, Laney instantly whined at the fact she had her clogs on with fuzzy socks which weren't suited for the snow, making Morgan take a video of her and laugh. If it weren't from all the nausea, Laney would have been ecstatic about being in fresh air, but the smell of New York made her almost gag and retch right on the stairs. Holding it together, she put herself in the car and looked at the driver while Morgan began to pile things into the trunk, "No strong smells please," referring to any air fresheners or hand sanitizer. The man just nodded.

After Morgan got in, the two of them headed to SoHo where they would be spending the next three days until Morgan had to leave for California. The hotel view was spectacular as the lights from Rockerfeller dazzled into the room from the window. Laney immediately began posing making Morgan take her photos before snapping a few pictures of them together.

"What time is your meeting with Anna tomorrow?" he raised a question before handing Laney her phone back.

"Noon, when's your interview over tomorrow?" she answered as she went into her bag to take out her outfit for tomorrow.

"I can walk you there before because mine is at two. How are you feeling babe?" Morgan engulfed her as she stood up with her outfit for tomorrow.

"Nervous. What if she doesn't like it?" she thought as she showed Morgan her outfit.

He scrunched his nose in distaste before grabbing the outfit in his own hands, "This is definitely very New York of you".

Her eyes widened in panic as she looked at the outfit in his hands. Going back to the duffel bag and grabbing her backup option, she shoved it in his hand. Although the man had no fashion sense it was important for her to get his approval.

He perked his eyebrow up looking between the outfit in his hand and her, "Now when did you buy this?".

"Morgan," she whined impatiently for a better reaction, "I've had this for a week now..... come on. Tell me what you think".

He nodded, "You'll look like a hot business woman".

Laney took the black suit-like jumpsuit with sleeves and put it in the hotel closet along with her jewelry and heels. She wasn't a fashionably great woman, but she wanted to make sure that the meeting with Anna tomorrow would go smoothly for her and possibly result in winning her approval.

"Should we go out to the tree?" Laney asked looking out of the window at the dazzling Christmas lights.

He nodded as he grabbed his coat making Laney groan, "We need to buy me some Uggs tonight".

The two walked out of the room and into the elevator leading them into New York. A slow rush of cold air seeped into the elevator as the doors opened. As the two walked out hand in hand and turned the corner, Laney was greeted by the Ugg store making her tug Morgan inside.

She already knew the pair she wanted and immediately grabbed a box with her size on it to change into and walk out in. Morgan had already placed his card down luckily so she didn't even have to worry about paying and explaining her situation. And in that moment, she had remembered why she loved him so much all over again.

As the Rockerfeller Plaza came closer in view, Laney's heart thumped with excitement. It was feeling closer to Christmas already. She felt like she was in a snow globe while watching the crowd of people swarm with joy and laughter over the tree. The ice skating rink was filled with people laughing, falling, and little kids crying.

After she sat on a bench and began watching people ice skate, she fixated on a little kid and her parents. Her big pink puffer coat swallowed her body as she looked like Bambi while trying to skate on ice. Her dad guided her through the crowd of people slowly while the mom was recording trying not to laugh while the little girl ate shit.

"That's going to be us and our kid someday," Morgan said following her eyes as he handed her a hot chocolate.

"You would probably be the one laughing though," Laney sipped on her drink which warmed her up instantly.

"What would we dress her up in for Halloween?" Morgan asked.

Laney thought momentarily before laughing, "A bee" making Morgan laugh along with her.

"What are we doing for Halloween?" Laney asked him as they cuddled up next to each other on the bench.

"Make love," he bluntly said as she slapped his chest from the response.

"I'll be back from the press tour that day so I wanted to stay home. I wouldn't mind if you dressed up in something nice though," he flirted with her making her roll her eyes.

"That sounds perfect to me but don't get your hopes up Wallen," she added.

Morgan grabbed her hand and got up tugging Laney along all of a sudden, "I almost forgot".

She blinked rapidly as he walked through the crowd of people and closer to the rink. Handing the man two tickets, they were given a pair of skates near the rink and Morgan smiled at Laney's dropped jaw.

"I love you," Laney squealed as she sat down to put on her ice skates.

"I can't skate for shit," Morgan groaned.

Laney laughed as the pair prepared to walk off and skate. As she began to glide freely on the ice, she looked back to see Morgan nowhere in sight. As she turned around, she spotted him holding the railing. Skating over she saw the panicked look on his face, "Come on".

After a few turns here and there, and Morgan colliding with the ice, they called it quits.

"I'm so proud of you," Laney told him as they walked back to the hotel.

"Stop it you're kidding," he said.

"We are going to have to practice," Laney patted his back playfully before he threw her over his shoulder, "Hey!".

"Tell me Mrs. Wallen. Who's the better skater?" he said as he continued to walk to the hotel.

"Me"

He shook his head as he continued to walk, getting them some strange looks from strangers but it was Nee York after all, how strange could it be.

"Fine fine you," Laney squeaked getting embarrassed.
