His face dropped, "...Jack?".

She rolled her eyes at the question, "No. I destroyed the truck and I left you when you tried to get better".

"You sent me divorce papers-"

"I sent you divorce papers," she added to her confession.

"If you hadn't left me like that, I don't think I would have tried. I... I needed that," he confessed making her surprised.

She couldn't help but be blunt, "I'm scared you'll do it again. I don't want to have Luna go through watching a cheating scandal or watching her parents argue about something like this and leave her with trauma. She doesn't deserve it".

Morgan looked like he was going through a reality check after she said that. He didn't speak for a full minute as she began tracing designs into the ground with her finger. Maybe she said too much. It was becoming too good to be true.

"I won't do it again. She doesn't deserve it but neither do you," he finally promised, "I couldn't live with myself. You have my word. I love you".

Stopping herself from tracing another figure on the hardwood floor, she gazed into his eyes. The moon designs scattered on his face, casting crescent moons all over his face while his blue eyes pierced through her, twinkling the brightest of them all. She was aching to run her fingertips along his face, tracing his cheekbones and every feature of his face to be close to him, but she knew it was too soon. I love you too.

She fell silent and returned to doodling more designs. Morgan found himself at a loss for words, desperate for something. He missed hearing her voice, this was the most she had spoken since coming back. Despite the rocky territory, he yearned for her presence, as he prayed for her comfort all these weeks. A question was etched in his mind, and he had to ask or he knew he would regret not asking, "Will you sleep in our bed?".

Her expression wavered with hesitation making him instantly wish he could retract his question. The idea of sharing a bed with him was overwhelming, "I'm really... big. And I'm just not ready yet," her voice trembled.

He shook his head, "It's fine. Really I should not have asked. Baby steps".

The hurt and vulnerability in his voice were more intimate and sensitive than usual, she could tell he was aching for his wounds to be shut. "Why do you come here at night?" she softly asked.

"I actually avoided this room after you left. It's surreal that you're here right now," he replied. "I come here for a peace of mind and comfort... sometimes when I want company. This is her room, and it holds memories of you. And you're a part of her... well, Luna".

"You like the name Luna?" she asked.

"Luna Marie Wallen" he corrected her making her grin.

She found herself at a loss for words, the only certainty racing in her mind was that she desired to be where he was. As she got up, a sharp pain stabbed her stomach making her bite her lip hard. Fucking Luna.

Morgan looked up in concern and rushed over to her side, lifting her stomach and making her let out a sigh of relief.

"How can I help?"

She couldn't help but crack a smile. Out of all things he could have done, he hurried to her side and raised her stomach. It was the tiniest things about him that made her adore him. It's like all of her pain went away when he was around. But it was about baby steps.

"I'm okay, I'm going to bed. Goodnight," she told him as she prompted him to let go of her stomach.

"Oh okay" he said,"Goodnight Laney.
