After eating breakfast, Laney slouched on the couch trying not to cry from the misery she was dealing with from Luna. Morgan began to tidy up the dishes but peeked at her frequently to make sure she wasn't going into labor.
"We should clear up everything before we enter the new year," she suggested as she clutched the couch beginning to count her breathing.
It wasn't what he thought she would say but it still came as a surprise, "Ok... did you Jack do anything?".
Laney began to rant, "No Morgan. I'm not sure what your obsession is with this idea of him and I, but he and I were done after you threw that chair off. All we fucking did was eat with Ana by the way, and discuss where I would live. He offered me a place to stay at a discount and offered to take care of me. Anything else?" she snapped.
He just kept his eyes on the suds forming on the dishes, "Nope. You don't like him at all?".
"Morgan," she practically yelled, "Sorry I'm in a lot of pain right now but do you have common sense right now? Look at where I am. I have a ring on my finger and I am bound to have our child. He has no chance".
He gulped frightened, pregnant Laney was beautiful but scary. "Okay. I think that's it then. What are we going to tell our families?".
"The truth, I don't have any questions" she muttered as the pain subdued and she lay on the couch, "The baby needs to come out" she began to sob.
Morgan didn't know what to do he started to panic, "What are your New Year's resolutions?". It was a stupid question but a question to deter her from biting anyone's head off, especially his.
She glared as she wept more, "Be a mom".
Morgan did his best to hide his laughter by taking a sip of his sweet tea but spit it out everywhere and turned red in silent laughter. And Laney was going to silently kill him.
She curled up in a ball shape as much as she could until the pain went away. Exhaling she screamed, and then sat back in a normal position, "Do we have cake?".
"We have ice cream," he shrugged as he walked towards her and extended his arm for her, "You want to move right? Use the pregnancy yoga ball".
She took his hand as he led her to the pink ball in the living room, crouching down she began to wheeze as a joke before bursting into laughter. Bouncing up and down, she nearly slipped but Morgan caught her in the knick of time.
"Jesus Christ" he yelped, "Ok not the ball".
She huffed before walking to the bedroom and sitting on the bed, turning on the TV, she found a Rom-Com to watch. Morgan slipped under the covers with her, testing the waters. He grabbed her hand and she leaned into him like it was an instant reflex. Resting her head on his shoulder she sighed before widening her eyes and lifting her head up, "Sorry... habit" she blushed.
He rolled his eyes pushing her lightly to lean back onto him, "You're acting as if we don't have sex and we have never seen each other naked. You're about to have my kid".
She was right, she was the reason everything was awkward anyways. As he sat up straight, she rested in the crook of his neck while he swung an arm around her shoulder. Putting on Suits, they sat fiddling their fingers and holding hands without saying a word. Comfortable silence was needed today.
But then Laney couldn't remember much, her eyes opened and Morgan was snoring leaning into her. Having the urge to pee, she lightly brushed him off gently placing her pillow for his head to rest on. Waddling to the bathroom, she peeked at the time, 9:30 PM. It was still New Year's Eve. After pissing in the toilet and flushing the toilet while washing her hands, she felt it all rush down. Did... did her water just break? Or did the sink just break? Taking a look at the counter, no water was dripping from the countertop to the floor. Looking at the tile of the flooring and herself, her suspicions were confirmed.
