Going up to him, she slapped him in the face. She never thought she would but she did, "I'm filing for divorce," she plainly said. There was no emotion left in her body. She wasn't stupid enough to keep letting this happen.
Her voice cracked as she tried to hold it together, "Did you just come here to fuck up my night?".
A handprint was imprinted on his cheek as he shook his head, "It it was from the night before you told me you were pregnant. I swear I haven't cheated since. It was just a kiss. But it still ain't right and I've been trying to tell you," his eyes began to water.
She scoffed shaking her head, "Do you think I'm a joke? Someone to get pushed around and cheated on constantly? What the fuck is genuinely wrong with you? I do nothing to deserve this," and with that she began to tear up.
"Laney let me explain. She came up to me and grabbed my face and kissed me. I swear I was going to tell you but then you told me about the baby. You could even ask Bean-".
She held her finger up to shush him as she grabbed his phone and dialed Bean's number off it putting it on speaker.
"Yo?"
"Hey Bean," Morgan cleared his throat.
"What's up man?".
"Remember when that girl kissed me?" Morgan asked.
"Yeah, the crazy chick who jumped the fence? Why what about her?".
"Has anything like that happened since?" Morgan asked.
Bean laughed, "Are you drunk? Hell no".
Morgan nodded, "No I'm just.. making sure. Sometimes I forget. Thanks man".
"Yup don't fuck up with Laney man," and with that Bean hung up.
Laney was staying calm for the sake of her mental sanity and the child but she repeated it again, "I'm filing for divorce". Even though it pained her to say those words, she was standing her ground.
Morgan's head shot up as tears began falling down his face, "Laney please no". He reached out to touch her with his shaky hands and she immediately shut him down.
"Stop Morgan," she growled as he tried to step towards her, "Move a step fucking closer and I will literally make sure that you won't even see the baby".
His eyes flashed with hurt, "Laney".
She took a moment to comprehend everything she heard from Bean and from him. She knew better. She knew he wasn't lying but it still wasn't right, "How do I know you won't cheat?".
"It was the one time Laney and this time I didn't even do anything. I shoved that girl off me," he said as tears fell from his face, "I would never try to hurt you. I'll never break my vows to you".
"Laney, through all the rowdy night of my life, I never thought I would find the love of my life at Aldeans on a Thursday night. Rather than never speaking to you again, I decided to take you on an adventure around Nashville and Knoxville. I'm not sure why I offered but I would offer a million times again. Even though you pushed me into a lake that day, it was at that moment I realized that you had something special that I needed in my life. And I'm so grateful to have that something special for the rest of my life. Someone who will just let me be a normal man at the end of the day. So I promise to get you pints of ice cream and bottles of wine that you claim you never want for the rest of my life. I promise to provide for you when you don't want to work down the road. I promise to make your dream house a reality. I promise to love you unconditionally and I promise to never hurt you. I promise that we will live in our little bubble forever".
