*knock*
"Lagta hai Priya aa gayi," an excited Anju came out from the kitchen quickly, making her way towards the door, leaving confused Sanjeev behind who was already halfway to the door.
In question, he gazed at his daughter, Ritika, who was sitting on the sofa. "Ram Kapoor wali meeting," she reminded her father.
"Priya aa gayi tu," Anju spoke, opening the door.
"Nahi mumma, raste mein hu," smiling Priya cracked the everyday joke for the everyday question.
"Vo Ram Kapoor ke sath meeting kaisi rahi?" Anju asked, walking behind her daughter.
"It was good," Priya replied casually, walking into her room to take a shower. Being working at a hospital, she had a habit of showering the first thing she enters her home.
With wide eyes, Anju and Ritika looked at each other before she sprang up from the sofa, taking her mother in an excited hug. "Mumma, main Manish Malhotra wala lehenga lungi," she declared.
"Main bhi Sabyasachi ki sari lungi," Anju too joined in her daughter's excitement.
"Priya ne 'hn' nahi boli hai, sirf 'good' kaha hai," Sanjeev spoke, looking at the overexcited duo strangely.
"Papa, Di ne 'good' bola hai," Ritika told her father, emphasizing on 'good.'
"To?"
"Tum bhi na," Anju facepalmed herself.
"Arre papa, Di last time har meeting ke baad kitne gusse mein aati thi, full rant mode on, aur aaj kitni chill hai," she explained to her father.
"Arre tum, maa-beti, zyada soch rhe ho,uska din bhi toh achha gaya ho sakta hai. Aur main pehle hi bata do, Priya ko koi force nahi karega," he told the exact sentence precisely for the tenth time.
"Arre Ritika, inko chhod, hum Shalini ji se puchte hain Ram ne kya kaha," saying this, the two exited the hall.

."Jaan, aap zara idhar dekhengi," Ram called his mother in a sugar-coated voice, who was busy setting clothes in her already organized cupboard.
"Dikh nahi raha, kaam kar rahi hoon," she told, still not facing him.
"Han, dikh raha kaise aap already shi almari ko wapas shi kar rahi hain," he spoke, taking the suit from her hand and keeping it in the cupboard.
"Kya hai disturb kyu kar raha, main kabhi karti hu tere kaam ke beech disturb," she spoke sternly.
"Han bahut baar, aur vo sab chhoro, aaj kiske sath milne bheja tha?" he questioned, folding his arms and standing in front of her.
"Kiske sath?" she asked, faking innocence.
Amazed, he looked at his mother, "Really Jaan?" "Pehle Dr. Priya se milne bheja, upar se mujhe bataya bhi nahi."
"Han to matrimony site mein profile acchi thi, unne bhi request accept kar li," she answered casually.
"Mili thi ya dudhi thi?" he asked, scrunching his eyes.
"Kuch bhi tha, ladki to acchi hai na, meeting to acchi gayi na?" she spoke back in mother's mode.
Now it was Ram's turn to take a step back, straightening his arms, "Han matlab buri to nahi thi," "par bahut awkward thi starting mein," he added later, backing his statement.
A grin came to Shalini's face, "to main Haan bol deti hu," she spoke excitedly, picking up her phone.
"Ek second, haan bol deti matlab?" "Ek meeting se kaise decide karu," he spoke, shocked, snatching her mother's mobile.
"Beta ji, aap bhool rhe hai to yaad dila du hospital mai vo hi doctor thi," she spoke, tapping his cheek and snatching back her phone.
"Aur doctor Priya ko main shi lga ya nhi ye kaise pta," he came up with yet another excuse but a genuine one.
"Abhi Anju ji se baat hui thi, Priya ko bhi tu shi lga aur baki vo puch ke raat tak bataengi," she answered, walking into the balcony with her phone.
"Waise tera raat ka kya plan hai, office party?" she asked, stopping midway.
"Soch rha tha ghar pe aapke sath celebrate karu but chalo office hi chala jaunga," he spoke dramatically, earning a slap and then a hug from Shalini.

.Priya was baking the cake when Sanjeev and Anju entered the kitchen, settling at the nearby table.
"Aaj ka din kaisa tha, Priya?" Sanjeev asked, earning a glare from Anju.
Frowning, she turned to her father, "Kya hua papa, aap wapas kyun pooch rahe ho," they had already discussed her day over coffee.
"Sidha sa sawal bhi nahi pucha jata," Anju intervened, "Priya, Ram ke sath meeting kaisi thi," she asked herself.
"Achhi thi, bataya to tha," she answered, settling herself on the kitchen slab.
"Ram ka nature wagra accha tha ?,"
"Haan, accha tha, infact baki logo se bahut better," she spoke, remembering the past incidents which were horrible.
"To?"
"To?" Priya repeated her mother's sentence, confused.
"Dono baap-beti ek jaise hain ", " to ye ki haan bol de ? ," she asked her daughter.
With wide eyes, she looked at her parents. How was she supposed to decide in one meeting?
"Priya beta, koi force nahi hai, tu aram se soch ke bata," Sanjeev spoke, walking near his daughter.
"Soch k...", Anju's sentence was cut short by Sanjeev.
"Anju, hum is bare main pehle baat kar chuke hain na," he spoke in declaration.
Sighing audibly, Anju spoke, "Accha, unko ghar to bula sakte hain Shalini ji milna chah rhi thi, aur tab Ram se baat karke decide kar lena."
Thinking for a minute, exchanging a glance with her father, she nodded.
