-----------------------------------------------------------The Sood household was in a state of chaos as the family scurried around making arrangements for the significant visit of The Kapoors.
Aroma of the freshly made tea filled the air as Sanjeev prepared the snack tray. Meanwhile, Anju was busy rearranging the cushions and chairs; it was more of panicking around as she wanted absolute perfection.
"Priya sun le na," Anju supported her daughter Ritika, who was trying to convince Priya to wear something different rather than her usual co-ord.
"Mumma, ye bhi to naya hi hai," Priya answered tiredly, going back to the task at hand: checking the health reports of the patients. It was her way of dealing with the jitters she had felt since morning.
"Anju, kitni pyaari lag rahi hai Priya," Sanjeev came out of the kitchen to support his daughter.
"Aap/papa...," their conversation halted as the doorbell rang, and silence fell as every eye turned towards the entrance door.
Taking a collective breath and putting on the best smile, Sanjeev reached the door, the air thick with anticipation and nervousness.

."Varun roke wali thali jab phone karu tab upar le aana," Shalini instructed the house helper who accompanied them before stepping out of the car.
Behind her stepped down Ram, who nervously took a deep breath. He still couldn't believe it was actually happening and his mother had come all prepared to even do the first function: The roka.
He adjusted his hair and coat for the umpteenth time as he stood outside the entrance door, trying his best to smile despite the jitters he felt.
Soon the door opened, making his heart race faster. There stood a man, his best guess her father, and as per his mother's instructions, he quickly bent down to touch his feet but was stopped midway as the man held him by the elbow.
His mother and the man exchanged greetings. Meanwhile, Ram tried to take in the surroundings, looking behind the man towards the woman, probably her mother; then towards a younger girl who was trying to peek out excitedly. His gaze fell on the only familiar face, Priya; unknowingly, a little smile came onto his face as his racing heart calmed to a great extent.
Exchanging greetings and introductions, everyone settled comfortably on the sofa. Different snacks and tea covered the table in front.
It was probably for the first and last time that the typical foodie Ram remained unbothered to taste the delicacies kept in front of him, as he was busy thinking about ways to talk with Priya alone. It felt very awkward to ask. He tried to gesture to Priya with his eyes, but she was too engrossed in listening to his mother's praises, who kept on telling about the hospital incident to her parents, ' Dr. Priya, ek baar idhar bhi dekh lo'.
To his luck, his entire gestures and faces were noticed by the third person, Ritika. "Papa and aunty, di aur Ram sir ko akele baat karne dete hain," she suggested, for which she also earned a glare from Priya and internal praise from Ram.
"Haan Priya, Ram ko kamre mein le ja baat kar lo," Anju spoke.
"Achhe se sab discuss kar lena, lifetime ki baat hai," Shalini gave her piece of advice to the two potential partners who stood up to leave.

.Warm lighting and the subtle colors of her room welcomed Ram, reducing the nervousness he felt outside.
His gaze scanned the room until it halted on the picture of the little girl. The girl looked cute; he wanted to inquire if it was her but didn't dare to ask.
