Little longer chapter as a compensation for the delay :)

"Priya, tu kya kar rahi hai ready kab hogi? Teri hi mehendi hai," a panicking Anju scolded Priya, who still was wearing a black chikankari kurta, helping her father with the flower decoration.
It was the day of the mehendi ceremony, and the entire Sood household was in a state of chaos, making the arrangement and decorations. The atmosphere of the hall was vibrant with warm lights and strings of flowers. A strong fragrance of henna and roses filled the air.
"Mumma, mujhe bas 5 minute lagenge tayyar hone mein," Priya answered after sharing a smile with her father at the amount of excitement her mother had been showing since the morning.
"Priya, hospital nahi jana, shaadi ka function hai. Bas kapde nahi badal ke aa jana," she spoke, glaring at the father-daughter duo.
"Meri Priya ko tayyar hone ki kya zarurat? Vo to aise hi itni pyaari hai," Sanjeev interrupted, taking the side of his daughter.
"Sanju, tum na..." Anju's words halted as the hall suddenly became dark.
"Lo light chali gayi," Sanjeev joked, which soon turned into horror as the realization hit. "Light chali gayi," he panicked.
"Ab kya hoga... maine kaha tha hall book kar lete hain, par tum dono baap-beti ko low-key karna tha. Are meri ice cream aur pastries sab pighal jayengi," she blabbered, going towards the kitchen.
"Call kyun nahi utha raha ye... bina light ke kaise hoga sab, Priya," Sanjeev worriedly paced around, trying to call the electrician.
Tense lines appeared on Priya's face as she looked at her family's nervousness.
"Papa, ruko, main electrician ko bula ke laati hu. Aap tension mat lo," she stepped forward, taking the matter into her own hands.
"Priya, tu kaise jaegi? Tu hone wali dulhan hai. Main jaata hu," Sanjeev objected.
"Papa, aap subah se kaam kar rahe ho. Aap baitho ghar pe, dekho, main jaldi se leke aati hu," she spoke, making her father sit on the sofa to calm him.
"Priya tu...."
"Papa," she cut him off, picking up her handbag to leave.

Naina da......The grooving tune of "Naina Da Kya Kasoor" washed over Ram as he drove his car along the streets leading to Priya's home. His fingers tapped the steering wheel in sync with the beat.
As he turned his car into the left lane, a glimpse of a woman caught his attention. He slowed down, removing his sunglasses to look at her through the rear-view mirror. "Dr. Priya yahan," he exclaimed.
Stepping out of the car, he approached Priya, who was animatedly talking to a man.
"Aise kaise aap extra paise maang sakte hain? Aapka kaam hai light theek karna," Priya's voice reached his ears, giving him a slight insight into the situation.
"Haan to madam, ek ghante baad aata hoon aapke ghar ki light theek karne," the man, his best guess the electrician, spoke nonchalantly.
"Aree..." Before her entire anger could launch at the man, Ram intervened.
