Previously on The Summer Of Love...

The Edwards family had been going to Susannahs beach house in Cousins every summer ever since she was a baby.

Susannah would always tell Violet that she was destine to be with one of her boys, although that made one girl mad, Violet always smiled hoping that it would be Conrad.

The couple fell more in love over the summer with some ups and down but that didn't stop them from having the best summer ever.

Although by the end of the summer there were some different emotions, Susannahs cancer was back, Conrad didn't know how to deal with it he shut down, Jeremiah was kept out of the loop and the whole deb ball went to shit.

Jeremiah was able to convince his mom to do the treatment but that didn't seem to last ether, her cancer came back and April 14th she past away.

Each kid ended up falling into a different path of grief...

Violet was in denial. She started to throw herself in her school work, her sport. She thought if her brain was always working then she wouldn't have to think about the death of Auntie Anna. Her coach loved seeing her work that hard and saw the mental tole it was taking on her and told her to take a break but she couldn't because once she stopped Susannah would be gone.

Conrad was in anger. He lashed out more, he was more aggressive. He did the same thing as Violet just keeping himself involved with school and he wouldn't have to think about the loss of his mom. He need Violet to keep him under control but she was too far away for that, so he resulted to anger and aggression.

Laurel was in bargaining. All she could think about was what she could have done differently and what she could have done to stop it. She wrote books, and started to shell herself away as she didn't know what to do anymore with out her best friend.

Isabel was in depression. Her grades dropped, she lost her volleyball spot, she lost any chance at a scholarship. She lost her will to live, she was deeply effected by the loss of Susannah. Isabel lost her friends and anything that seemed to be going good in her life and it was safe to say that there was no coming back.

Jeremiah just accepted it.
