Bakugo POV
After Endeavour chewed our heads off for messing up whatever mission Stealth and Noir were meant to complete we were punished with another month of desk duty.
But I was over it. I quit on the spot and stormed out the flaming heroes office, swearing to become the greatest hero he'd ever seen. And to my surprise, Shoto did the same."What's the plan? We starting our own agency?" He asked as he followed me into the carpark.
"I'm starting my own agency, yes. I don't know what your plan is." I grumbled.
Ever since Idina left, Shoto seemed to think we shared a loss. In his mind we both grieved the loss of someone important - he lost his best friend and I lost the girl I loved. Because of this he seemed to think we had a brotherhood between us, forged by the void Idina left behind as she cowardly abandoned her life at UA and everyone in it. Shoto would continuously position himself at my side, was always showing up at my apartment uninvited and even started a Soba Sunday dinner night against my wishes. So I really shouldn't have been surprised that he would follow me like a stray dog as if we were the same.
We weren't.
Yes we both lost Idina, but at least Shoto still had Momo. I had no one.
"You haven't saved enough on your own. Why don't you stop being difficult and start an agency together. If we both put our savings together we'd have enough to get a good office space at a decent location."
Shoto was right. It would make sense...
"I'll think about it." I grumbled as I stomped off to my black Ute.
It wasn't until the following evening that my quirk returned. I knew it was only a temporary nullification but I couldn't deny the feeling of relief as the power itched its way back into my body once more. I felt like myself again.
I was already wearing my hero costume and readying to patrol for the first time under my own agency when there was a sturdy knock on the door. I knew who it was before I opened it.
"Shoto." I muttered as I crossed my arms over my chest.
He looked me over carefully."You're already dressed. Were you planning on patrolling without me?" He asked.
I scoffed. "Of course." I replied honestly.
Shoto didn't seem offended. If anything he looked like he expected it. He too was already dressed in his blue and white hero costume and was no doubt here to make sure I didn't head off without him.
"Well if you're heading out on patrol we may as well go off together." He muttered with a shrug.
I groaned as I closed the door behind me.
"Do you honestly expect me to believe you just happened to be in the neighbourhood and in your hero gear? Come off it Shoto you're as subtle as a bull in an antique store." To my surprise he didn't even bother trying to deny it, just simply shrug his shoulders and followed in step beside me.
Fine. I guess we were patrolling together.
We had been patrolling for hours and had stopped a number of muggers and an armed robbery. As the moon hung high in the sky and the streets had emptied we had decided it was late and there likely wasn't much more to do at this hour.
