"You'd think the party would be over by now

"You'd think the party would be over by now." Shoto murmured with a yawn. I shook my head at him.

"It's only just gone midnight. What kind of parties do you go to?" It was a rhetorical question, mainly because I didn't care for the answer, yet Shoto spoke anyway.

"Well Momo and I went to a few of her families parties and they all finished much earlier than this."

I groaned. "You mean her families tea parties?" It took all my strength not to throw my head in my hands. I knew he was thick but still...
"Shoto tea parties and these types of parties are different... you know what, forget it. Just stop talking."

We went straight back to my apartment the moment we left the Yakuza manor and set up what we needed to tap into the listening devices Shoto had planted. It had only been a few hours but we were getting impatient. No wonder we didn't sign up for Endeavours STF, half of it was spying and I didn't have the patience to sit and do nothing for hours at a time.
Finally we caught some noise off the speakers of foot steps approaching in a click-clack against wooden floors. High heels.

"I think we're about to get something." Shoto whispered. I reached for the record button just in case and listened patiently.

"What room is this coming from?" I asked.

Shoto tapped at the keyboard before answering. "Device 4. It's in a bedroom, it looked like a woman's bedroom when I planted it."

I nodded in response. Muffled sounds came from the speaker. People were talking but I couldn't make out the words, still too far to distinguish. Then I heard it. The soft, airy laugh. It was Idina. It wasn't a laugh I had heard her use before but I knew her voice from anywhere. Then the sound of a door closing and more click-clacking foot steps. I swallowed at the realisation that this was Idina's bedroom. Isana I mentally corrected. This is Isana not Idina. Idina is gone.

"It was a lovely engagement party tonight wouldn't you agree?" A smoky voice filled the speakers. I grit my teeth, biting back the irrational jealousy of another man alone with her in her bedroom.

"Oh sure. Being paraded around like a prized doll all night was a dream come true." Her tone was thick with sarcasm which took me by surprise. Was she not happy with her engagement party?

"Not to mention," she continued. "My surprise that Katsuki Bakugo has waltzed straight into my home not once, but twice now." Her sarcasm morphed into malice and I was grateful not to be on the receiving end of her glare.
I glanced up at Shoto, our eyes locking at the mention of my name.

"Princess," the husky voice crooned, grating on my jealousy once more at the playful nickname.
"Chisaki sent invitations to all who helped the night of the attack. You can't be too surprised that he came."

"You don't know him like I do Yuzuki. He wouldn't have come for no reason. He's up to something. Did he do anything when he left?"

"Nothing. He and the Todoroki boy left straight away."
