"Oh, how wonderful to see you, Sasuke! And Sakura, beautiful as ever!" Madara greeted the duo in the lobby of Holiday House. He firmly shook his nephew's hand, and then gently kissed Sakura's.
She gave him a distrusting look. Madara seemed much more chipper than she'd remembered him. He was always in a much better mood back in Kirigakure than when he had to visit the Uchiha residence in Konoha.
Madara Uchiha spent a lot of his youth being an angrier version of Sasuke, to be frank. Hence, he greatly appreciated the serenity of living on the resort and managing the less stressful branches of the family business.
"Thanks, Uncle." Sasuke put the bags down and called over the servants to take them away.
"Tell me, are you two hungry? My assistants will show you to your rooms, you must be tired. Take some time to rest, and let's reconvene for dinner in an hour?"
"No need for the assistants, Madara. I remember how to get around this house. We'll meet you outside in an hour."
Madara nodded, smiled at Sakura, and walked outside on the balcony, where he had been sitting and enjoying his evening tea.
"Come on, I'll show you the room." Sasuke walked toward the stairs. She followed behind.
"The room? Are we sharing one?"
Sasuke looked back at her as they walked up the stairs.
"No, why would we? It's a massive house. Unless you insist?" He smirked at her.
"I'd rather sleep in a dog house," she smirked back.
"That can be arranged."
The two walked down a hallway with several windows on both walls. The view of the palm trees and beaches healed something in Sakura. This house was beautiful.
"This is your room. I am across the hall." Sasuke opened the door to a bedroom. Sakura walked in and saw her suitcase already beside the bed. The room was cozy, but definitely smaller than the one back at the mansion. She didn't mind, it was more than enough. The window overlooked the beach, which was really all she needed.
"Rest for a bit, we're leaving in an hour."
"Leaving? I thought we were having dinner?" Sakura stretched and sat on her bed. Sasuke stood in the doorway.
"We are. We'll be dining out."
"Oh, I see, um, where?"
"Most likely one of our restaurants."
"Your restaurants?" Sakura rolled her eyes. "Right, of course your family owns restaurants in Kirigakure. Typical." She had to admit, however, that this was probably the only way she'd be able to afford a meal at a fancy restaurant on this luxurious island.
Sasuke shrugged and closed the door behind him. Sakura lay down on the bed. She felt a bit tired from the roadtrip, so the soft bed really worked wonders on her. She rested for about fifteen minutes, and then got ready for a shower.
"Shit, I don't have a private shower..." Sakura realized only after she already had a towel on. She'd gotten so used to the luxury back in the mansion that she didn't even question it at this point. She sighed and put on an oversized T-shirt, grabbed her shower supplies, and peaked out of the room. The hallway had several rooms, all of which had identical doors.
*Damn, who designed this place? Ugh, do I just check every door to see which one is the bathroom? This sucks... What if I walk in on some gangsters or wake up murderers from their nap? No way.*
Sakura groaned and walked across the hall to Sasuke's room. She braced herself and knocked.
Sasuke opened the door almost instantly. He had changed into a t-shirt and sweatpants. The look fit him very well, she thought. He looked down at her and waited for her to speak.
