Hinata Hyuuga woke up blindfolded and handcuffed on cold concrete. She took a deep breath and kept calm. She knew this was going to happen. She had been preparing herself for this for several years, especially after Neji's death.

Last thing she'd remembered was packing her bags and talking to Naruto on the phone. He was asking her some stupid questions about why she needed to pack this much stuff for only a week-long vacation. Of course, he had no idea just how long her vacation was meant to be.

Neji was always the best at staying hidden. He had survived for almost a decade living underground without legal documents, address, or any recognizable traits. If the Uchiha were able to locate him, Hinata was clearly next on their list. Naruto was the only obstacle keeping them away from her, and it was only a matter of time until Sasuke figured out a way around that. So, the only chance of survival for Hinata was to flee Konoha, which would buy her at least several more years until they could track her down again. This was her life.

She  had begged Naruto to keep their trip to himself as much as possible. He must have mentioned it to the wrong people and somehow alerted the Uchiha about her planned trip to the Sand village. She figured that's how she ended up here - they had outsmarted her, again.

Hinata was taken from their home while Naruto was out on a quick errand. Of course, him being home would not have changed anything - if not make matters worse. She was going to be taken one way or another, dead or alive. She was just happy to be alive.

She tried to remove her blindfold, but her hands were tied behind her back. She sensed a presence in the room with her.

"I know you're there. What's the point of keeping me blindfolded?"

"Good point, you're a dead bitch walking anyway." A voice spoke in the darkness. Suddenly, light struck her eyes when her blindfold was abruptly removed. She blinked and looked around. She was in some kind of a basement with several jail cells. She was handcuffed to the bars, facing away from the entrance and toward a concrete wall. A man with an eye patch stood before her with a hateful grin on his face.

"You must be Shisui Uchiha." Hinata had done her research on the family. Shisui leaned on the concrete wall in front of her, unimpressed.

"Why am I not dead?" It was a genuine question. If the Uchiha had decided to ambush her despite her being Naruto's wife, killing her didn't seem that far-fetched. Shisui gave her an evil smirk.

"You seem to know everything, so let's see you figure that out."

"Is it to torture me?" Her voice displayed little panic or fear. She trusted herself to find a way out of this situation.

"Not a bad idea, I just might."

"So there's a different reason." She closed her eyes and thought about what they could want from her.

"Is it information you're looking for?"

"Warmer."

Her eyes widened in realization.

"Oh my god, Hanabi..." terror overtook her face. Of course it was about Hanabi. Her sister had managed to keep her cover much better than her or Neji since she left Konoha years ago. It made sense that the Uchiha would need Hinata to get to Hanabi.

Shisui smirked at Hinata, then walked past her and outside her cell.

"Brace yourself, Hyuuga. The next few days will be rough."

Hinata hung her head. For the first time, she wished they would have just killed her.

Sasuke would not fully believe the events of last night had actually transpired until he woke up to Sakura's naked body still asleep in his arms. The room still smelled like sex, and the rising Kirigakure sun was beaming through the large windows of Sasuke's VIP suite.
