Slamming my notebook shut, I leant forward to close the window to block out the strong winds which have been messing my hair. The weather was just—
Unusual.
The sky seemed go darker and darker as moments passed. The sun which was overhead just some time ago was now hidden beneath the dark clouds. It wasn't pitch dark though, there was some light visible. The streets which were usually crowded were now empty. It was both odd and unsettling.
Suddenly, I saw some kind of movement happening.
Must be the wind, since there was nobody outside.
As I closed the glass windows, my body automatically jerked backwards as saw a pair of eyes staring blankly at me, or was it my reflection?
I furrowed my eyebrows to my reflection. Of course it must be my reflection, what else?
Her body was like mine, eyes, nose, smile-
I wasn't smiling in reality.
But she was.
I widened my eyes wide trying to comprehend what I was watching.
But her eyes didn't widen like mine.
I felt a shiver run down my spine and goosebumps rising on my skin. I closed the curtains breathing heavily, my hands were trembling with fear.
Her features seemed a little distorted, skin looked waxy and unnaturally pale. But other than that she was me.
I should call mum, she should've been home by now.
But..did I really see that? Closing my eyes I tried to get the view out of my head.
It can't be real.
I recalled the sickly smile spread across her face, as if it threatened to spill all of your secrets.
But it was just my reflection, wasn't it?
It was strange though.
Maybe I was too tired and imagining things.
I opened the window again. There was nobody outside now. I must've gotten confused.
The doorbell rang, startling me.
Who could it be?
Taking a deep breath in, I walked towards the door.
Everything that happened right now was probably just my imagination and I'm in dire need of sleep. Honestly, I was still a little shaken up at the fact that I could not identify myself for second.
I need to stop watching horror movies. They are making me go crazy.
I gasped audibly when I saw the figure standing at the door.
