I trailed after him, my heart racing with concern, as he stormed out of the room like a whirlwind leaving destruction in its wake. I still couldn't wrap my head around the fact that Justin was the 'Forgotten Prince'-Justin Damion Blackwood, the one about whom prophecies had been written.

The guilt that had been building inside me threatened to overwhelm me as I considered the fact that Jace too might be struggling to cope with his own emotions, and I could only hope that Cole would be there to offer him some comfort.

How was it possible? How could a seventeen year old save the realities?

Had I unknowingly pushed him to take all the burden on his shoulders?

The memory of his pale and lifeless body, lying on the castle floor, replayed in my mind like a movie, refusing to be erased no matter how hard I tried to shake it off. His body was so cold and unresponsive-

I shook my head, trying my best to focus in the moment. He is okay, he is fine.

I didn't lose him.

But what if it wasn't Jace and I who found him.. What if nobody found him?

My own thoughts suffocated me, but I could die later. I needed to reach Justin first.

"Justin!" I called him, but he didn't bother to respond. He stopped dead, his face was a little blurry-

No, I was crying.

His stiff hand gripped mine tightly. I flinched at his strong grip, it was unlike him, he was usually were gentle and warm.

We descended a flight of stairs to reach a dark passageway. He almost ran through dark corridors and I lingered behind. It was as if he was running from the shadows, the world and his past. He seemed desperate to go wherever he was going, but I highly doubted if he even had a destination in mind.

I couldn't help but steal glances at him in the dim light that managed to seep into the dark hallways. His eyes seemed to be staring into some distant abyss, his pupils dilated as if he was searching for something.

Eyes are supposed to be windows to soul but all his otherwise comforting eyes showed was emptiness.

As we stopped, he suddenly sagged, his legs giving out beneath him. He sank to the floor, pulling me down with him. Our hands remained entwined as though we were afraid of losing each other to darkness. His eyes were closed tightly, and his chest rose and fell with ragged breaths.

"Justin.." I softly called him, wrapping my arms around his body. I let my head rest on his shoulder, feeling the warmth of his body. He hugged me tighter, breaking into silent sobs. My fingers gently brushed against his cheek.

"D-did you see my dad too? Was he there?" He asked like a lost child, holding onto me as if his life depended on me.

I wanted to say yes, it would make him better. But it'd be a lie. He was all alone when we found him. "Actually-" I hesitated.
