The next day, she told Felicia "Tell the person to cancel. I have already got my answer yesterday" and decided to meet with the debt collectors who began harassing her until she knocked them all out and threw a check to them "How much does that bastard owe you?"
One bulky man with a bald head looked at her and said "4000000 won plus the deposit from us. It's included in there"
She wrote down the amount and gave stick it to one of the men's forehead " bank this in today" and was about to leave when she turned around and said "I hope I will never see you sorry excuse of men around after this, especially near my children" she stared at them with a sharp gaze and the whole lot of them felt a cold sensation came down their spine
"Y-yes Ma'am" and watch as she nods and soon left.
They took the check and eyes widened in shock as they see the numbers.
"We need to tell boss about her" the bald man said and the friend with the bangs then agreed.
The bald guy then called someone "Boss"
The voice on the other side seem raspy answered "What?"
"She came with a check" the bald man said
The man on the other side got the cigarette out and throw it on the ground stomping on it
"Oh? Is it a huge amount?" The boss ask
The bald man gulped and the boss came out of the shadows and he was shocked as well.
"Send the check to the bank" he said and hang up.
The bald man looked at his colleague and said "Let's go to the bank, now" and soon they went to the bank which made the bank manager scared half to death and received the huge amount of money.
Hye Rin came back from meeting the debt collectors and went to her office to work, forgetting regarding the pressing matter.
Her fiancee, Do Hyun Woo.
She knew regarding this matter she must do something but her mind is conflicted right now
'Should I just trust him?'
'What more lies he kept from me?'
'Should I ask him if he knew about the incident? I don't know if he knows. Its been more than two decades ago'
She ended up not working at all as she continue having different scenarios in her mind and think what if he knows
"Maybe I should ask him" she concluded thus she texted him
Hye Rin- We need to talk
A dew minutes later he replied
Hyun Woo- oh no. Now I'm scared
A call was made and they promise to meet at lunch, where they met at their meeting place; the coffeehouse.
They ordered and took a seat and he was now smiling and holding her hand
"What do you want to talk about?" He ask and she felt overwhelming as she pulled her hand back and placing it on the table.
The drinks arrived as she took a sip of her favorite drink; Americano. He was drinking a latte.
He knew something was terrible wrong.
"What's wrong?" He ask and Hye Rin wanted to be blunt but knew it would ruin their budding relationship.
"Uh did I ever tell you regarding the car accident that happened when I was in middle school?" She began as he furrows his eyebrow
"No you didn't" he said "I never knew you were in a car accident'
She let out a soft sigh and began to share what it was
"It wasn't me in the car accident. It was both my parents" she said and his brain began to move
"Okay, then what happened?" He ask still unsure what she meant.
She sighed again and said "my parents car were hit by a drunk driver by the name of Yang Xiu Chen. He and his wife were found guilty and sentence to life in prison"
She looked at him and his eyes darkened "Yang Xiu Chen?" He said and Hye Rin nodded.
"My appa, Park Gyu Wook died first due to impact and my mum, Lee Rong Hae died soon after"
Hyun Woo was silent as he looked at her guilt clearly seen across from her. He saw her crying and said "I'm sorry Hye Rin. I am so sorry" he proceed to wanting to hug her but she pushed him away so quick she almost fell onto the floor.
"I'm sorry to break the news this way Hyun Woo but...." she paused and continued "I think we should be apart for a little while"
She got up and soon left the coffeehouse, leaving Hyun Woo heartbroken and alone.
He then received a text from the debt collector saying Hye Rin paid the full amount.
He called them back and said "find information regarding Yang Xiu Chen and his whereabouts.
His eyes darkened once again as he hung up the phone.
He knew he must make things right. Hye Rin too became conflicted of what to do.
She looked out the window from her office overlooking Han River and said "What do I do now?" She questioned more and more scenarios in her head as she fell asleep and dreamt a peculiar dream.
Dream:
She was riding along with her parent's in the car when Hye Rin saw the car coming towards them hitting the car on impact.
She watch as the person who got out wasn't the person she thought it would be but someone whom she care about.
Hyun Woo
He was walking and trying to open their car opened to save her parents but fire began to go bigger and soon her parents and herself being engulfed in flames.
She saw him crying.
'I'm sorry" he was yelling on repeat.
Then she saw his father, the man claimed to be one who killed her parents came into the scene in another car and told him to leave. He and his wife made it look like it was them.
Their son remain unchaste and not affected by the aftermath of the tragedy as his parents received life in prison for murder.
Hye Rin woke up and knew everything that happened was too good to be true.
"What do I do now?" She said out loud, unsure of what will happen in the near future after finding out the real truth.
