She stared at the call debating whether to hit the green button or the red one.
Then it flicked off

Not even 2 seconds later, Charlotte was calling again.

Mia sighed deeply before shakily pressing the green button to answer it.

Mia didn't say anything at first.

Hearing charlottes voice nearly made her break down.

"Amelia! Where are you, I was getting worried"
Charlotte snapped in a stern but caring manner.

"Sorry sweetheart, I'm on my way back now"
Mia answered trying so hard not to give away that deep down she was not okay right now.

Charlotte instantly knew something wasn't right as Mia rarely apologised and she usually gave a sarcastic response when Charlotte was rushing her home.

"Mia? Are you okay? You sound like you're about to cry" Charlotte replied with obvious concern

"Yeah of course sweetheart, I'm just tired. I'll see you soon" Mia tried reassuring char

"Okay Mia, I love you" she was unconvinced, but she didn't think Mia would lie to her so she let it go.

Mia hung up the phone and lifted her knees up to her chest and just sobbed. It had been a while since Mia had cried and what happened had released all the months of tears she had been holding back.

She sat there for a good 10 minutes just sobbing wishing that Charlotte was by her side right now.

She eventually tried to stand up because she knew Charlotte was waiting for her and she didn't want to raise suspicion. She could barely stand up with the pain, she felt violated. She staggered over to the door, dismissing what she had came in for in the first place.

She wandered down the dark hall with blurry eyes. She could barely make out where she was going because her eyes were all puffy and everything was just one big blur, she rubbed her eyes hoping to make the picture clearer.

The echoing of her shoes hitting the floor was filling the silent hallways. She didn't know what to do. She left the nursery and locking up was the last thing on her mind.

She walked over to her car which was the only one in the car park. The car park only held up to 15 cars but the walk over to her car felt like miles. She didn't know if he was still here.

Once she got in her car she let out a little sigh of relief. Startled by a car driving past at fast speed, she felt her heart rate shoot up again. She put her hand on her chest to soothe herself. She knew she wasn't in a fit state to drive but she knew she had to get back to Charlotte.

Charlotte was the only thing keeping her going.
