Did he care? How did he feel? Did the two share the same thoughts from the event?

He didn't feel guilty,
but guilt wouldn't stop eating her alive.

He had moved on,
but she was trapped in the memories.

He thought of what happened and he felt pleased,
but when she thought of it, she felt sick.

He got what he came for,
but she felt violated.

He could sleep peacefully at night,
but she was stranded in the nightmares.

He saw her as just another victory,
but she felt like she'd lost everything.

He felt powerful,
but she felt completely powerless.

He was proud,
but she was drowning in the shame.

He felt invincible,
but she felt utterly shattered.

This was like a ritual for him, he wouldn't give up until he had finished what he started. Unbeknown to Mia, he had been watching her for months until he decided to act. He knew everything about her. He knew that on the outside she was strong, beneath that really she was vulnerable, he knew what he could take and he wanted it, he wanted to take her dignity. His aim was to break her and he was succeeding.

How could she let him win?

He would watch her the second she left work and when she went home. When he saw Charlotte gathering her stuff, he could see her still cleaning the tables through the window. It was perfect.

He hid down the side of the nursery and waited for Charlotte to leave, when she did and the door was about to close, he snuck in without alerting her that she was there. He then hid waiting for her to be away from any windows. He was careful like that, he had the experience.

Mia was used to people hurting her from her childhood, every time she was able to overcome it. however, this time was different. They were always the people she once loved and trusted. How could she let a stranger be the one to ruin everything she had worked for.

----------------------------------

Before she knew it, Mia was back in the room with Charlotte.

She looked over to the brunette, she wondered what she did to deserve someone so perfect, when she herself was far from it.

She was so drained, she just wanted to sleep.

Mia began laying out an activity for the children but in her attempt to do so, she spilt some paint on the table. She instantly felt let down again. Why couldn't she do anything right? She didn't deserve Charlotte.

She turned to her and instantly began apologizing for her mistake, even thought it wasn't a huge one, she still felt like a disappointment, yet again.

Charlotte was confused as she herself had made many mistakes like this before, Mia had also done minor things, but she never over-reacted as such?

''Mia, its okay we can just clean it up, you don't need to apologise.'' Charlotte softly said, putting her hand on Mia's shoulder, one again making her flinch. Charlotte pulled her hand back.

Why was she being so distant? Have I done something wrong? Charlotte began to think back to the night before when the couple were fine. She would never keep secrets from me so it has to be something i did. Was it because I left early? no, because she told me to go, What has happened to upset her like this.

Charlotte knew that Mia rarely got upset and nothing really bothered her. So she knew that whatever it is, she was hiding it from her.

''Mia, what's going on?'' - Charlotte wanted to be direct and just get it out of the way, but of course Mia told her it was nothing.

''sweetheart, I promise I'm fine, nothing is wrong. I just felt bad for spilling the paint'' Mia gave her a slight smile, putting on a brave face.

Charlotte was left unconvinced. She really didn't want to believe that Mia would lie to her.

Should I have told her? no, I need to keep protecting her. I don't want her to think of me like that. I don't need to burden her with this.

Mia couldn't help but regret not telling her, but at the same time she was glad that Charlotte was still none the wiser. She was unaware that Charlotte was behind her blaming herself for Mia acting out.

she was crumbling.
