I was lying down while I slowly tried to move my body. Thick, ash grey, mist surrounded me so I could barely see beyond a few feet.
Why was Valerius dream like this? Couldn't it be a little bit nicer? As I thought that the fog swallowed up everything to the point I couldn't see anything anymore, creating an eerie, haunting feeling.
I felt a sense of unease creeping over me as I was trying to get up and walk. My top priority at the moment was getting out of this fog.
Shapes began to emerge as the mist slowly dissolved. I was disoriented, unsure of which direction to go, but curiously as I stumbled through the fog I didn't feel panic. This was only temporary. Since it was a dream, nothing could really hurt me.
I walked and I walked until I found myself standing at the edge of a vast, open meadow but there was something wrong with my body. As I was trying to look at it my vision became foggy. I looked closely to make sense of what was happening only to see strands of black fur around me. Did an animal pass by recently?
In the distance I saw a little boy playing with fallen leaves. He was throwing them in the air and watching the wind carry them. The wind? But there was no actual wind around... he was using magic. This boy was a mage like Akios? He said pitch black curly hair and a small gray cloak that fluttered in the wind. Once he saw me looking at him, he ran at me with full speed.
"Hiya Calytrix, " the little boy with icy blue eyes like Akios said.
"Have we met before?" I asked him.
"Calytrix!" he said seriously in tone of an adult male.
"Akios!" I was speechless for a second „How did you get so small?"
"Valerius was cursed when he was a little boy so I thought this would be appropriate. " He answered looking at me cutely with his big childish eyes. "Besides, shouldn't you worry about your body?" His tone changed to a small cutesy boys voice.
I looked down to see furry , animal like short legs. The slenderness and shortness remined me of a cat. I flipped my paws to discover pink toe beans and strong claws I could show or hide at will. This isn't right... I looked left and right and saw that my body was made of black fur with a big fluffy tail on the back. My movements were quick and easy as though I had no weight. I tried to look at my tail better and ended up running in circles.
Little Akios was laughing as he picked me up. "Stay calm!" I surrendered to him and didn't move my cat body. „I'll let you take a look at your new form." He carried my new body in his arms as though I was a baby. Akios even stroked my fur which made me feel strange. It was a nice feeling like patting my head but in a different way.
As he promised he took me to a small puddle that reflected its surrounding. I took a good look at my form. There was no mistake that I completely became a black cat with a little pink nose and green blue eyes. I hit the water with my paws as though it could change me back to human mode.
"Cats are cute, aren't they?" little Akios said.
I was disappointed with the sudden change and didn't know what to say. „Being a cat will allow you to go to a lot of places that humans are forbidden from," Akios continued.
If this form lets us solve the charm quicker than it is welcome. "Let's go!" I heard myself say mew to Akios. "What?" I meowed again.
"It's okay. I can hear your words."Akios tried to pick me up again but I struggled with my paws trying not to get my claws out.
"No way," I meowed while jumping away from Akios.
"No way," he repeated to reassure me that he heard my words. I calmed down and walked closer to Akios. I shouldn't make a fuss if we can communicate. He wanted to pick me up but I didn't let him. "Just like a real cat you won't let me stroke you?"
