It had been a week since your surgery. You sat quietly in the examination room, waiting for Dr. Mori and Dr. Akiyama to arrive. The days since the procedure had been a blur of rest and recovery. You couldn't go back to training just yet without your doctor's orders.

And as you're now appointed as the Third Commander of the First Unit, things have changed. You called Hoshina after that meeting, telling him what happened and ranted a bit. He had told you he already knew about it, Ashiro had talked to him the same day he called you, telling him what Chief Shinomiya had told her.

You couldn't help but to let out an exasperated sigh. This day onwards, you'll be under the care of the First Unit. At least you're with Kikoru and Kafka, and you're sure that you'll be back in the Third Division Unit after whatever your father is planning to.

A knock was heard from the door, cutting you off from your trance. You look up from where you sit and saw it opened, and Dr. Akiyama entered, followed closely by Dr. Mori. They greeted you with warm smiles, Dr. Mori wave at you with such enthusiasm that somehow sets you in ease. You were quite nervous of what they'll say.

"Shinomiya-san, how have you been feeling?" Dr. Akiyama asked, holding your charts in his arm as he walk towards where you sat, sitting across from you as Dr. Mori stands closer to you. "I've been good. My left eye still feels a bit sensitive, but it's manageable," you responded, pointing to your left eye.

You're not sure why, but you would often feel it stings in the night and teats would fall down on your cheeks but other than that, there's nothing wrong.

"That's normal," Dr. Mori stated, lifting your chin gently to examine your eyes. "Let's take a closer look." You sat still as Dr. Mori used a small light to inspect your eyes, her movements were careful as she leaned forward, her eyes focus on your iris. While Dr. Akiyama reviewed your medical charts, nodding in approval.

"Your eyes are healing remarkably well," she smiled at you, still in awe when she saw how your eyes were glittering, lowering the light. "The retina of Kaiju No. 7 is integrating seamlessly." You gave her a nod and a smile, relieve that it's all going well.

Dr. Akiyama smiled. "Indeed. We were cautious about potential complications, but it seems you've managed exceptionally well." You noticed the bags under his eyes were getting heavier, he seems he doesn't get much sleep. Dr. Mori was the same, but she was still glowing and joyful as ever when you first saw her.

"Now, regarding your training..." Dr. Akiyama trailed off, glancing at Dr. Mori before his eyes looks down on your charts. He flips a few pages before looking back at you. You leaned forward, anticipation clear in your eyes. "Can I go back into training?"

"Yes," Dr. Akiyama confirmed. "You can start training again, but proceed with caution. Gradually increase your activity level and avoid any strenuous use of your abilities for now." He was nodding to himself, there was a little smile on his face.

"We can also test your portal making abilities too." He added on, making you feel surgw of energy coursing through you. "Continue to avoid bright lights as much as possible and monitor for any unusual symptoms. If anything seems off, contact us immediately." Dr. Mori then added on to what Dr. Akiyama was saying. She flashes you another smile.

"I will, thank you." You stand up. Dr. Mori put the small light in her coat's pocket as she leaned back, standing next to Dr. Akiyama who slowly stands up. The two of them nodded at you and gave you a smile in return.

"Please take note that you shouldn't overuse the retina's power for more than 5 minutes." You glance at Dr. Akiyama when he suddenly spoke, the three of you slowly makes your way to the door. You hum, tucking a strand of hair in your ear as you're currently thinking of training and see what you should improve right now.
