SPECIAL!
So.. I was thinking that this will be the end of this fanfic, but.. I chose to make it as a special chapter and changed the ending that I wanted for this story.
Enjoy!
. . .
"Will you marry me?"
That question was what you were waiting for for the past 3 years of being in a relationship with Soshiro. You already expect that he'll pop the question soon, since there were hints of it whenever you two are at your shared apartment (his condo actually, but he had asked you to moved in with him after three months of dating officially).
You would see his laptop open, you didn't mean to pry or anything but, you would see multiple tabs open, and a website about 'romantic places to propose' was seen on his recently search— you didn't mean to giggle when you saw that, it was just cute that he would search such things.
With that hints, you already imagined how hard he was planning for the proposal. The times he must have spent in search of the perfect place to finally go down on one knee, the ring in his hand as he looked at you with adoration and love in his eyes as he popped the question.
But, Soshiro complete botched his proposed.
Instead of asking you to marry him in the grand, romantic way he had envisioned—beneath the dazzling colors of the Aurora Borealis, which reminded him of your eyes, and kneeling as the northern lights swirled overhead, presenting the ring he'd painstakingly chosen—he ended up popping the question in the most unexpected and hilarious way.
You were both lounging on the couch during a lazy rest day, munching on chips and engrossed in a cheesy romcom. Your legs closed to your chest as you hug a pillow, munching on some chips as your eyes were focused on the TV screen. Out of nowhere, during a particularly sappy scene, he turned to you with wide eyes and crumbs on his shirt.
"Will you marry me?" He blurted out, holding a chip instead of the ring. You almost choked on the chip that was halfway in your mouth when you heard him ask you that. You stared at him, a chip halfway to your mouth, unsure if he was joking. "What?" you asked, laughter bubbling up your throat but you stopped when you saw the serious expression on his face.
"I mean it!" He insisted and he almost sounded like he was whining, but then he looked down on his hands and realized he was still holding the cheese ring instead of the actual ring. Flustered, he jumped up, knocking over the bowl of chips in the process. "Just a second!" He said, darting out of the room.
You couldn't help but to laugh and grimace at the same time when you saw the bowl of chips fall over the floor, you'll have to clean that up later on. But it was funny to see Soshiro dashing out of the living room to go to your shared bedroom, in hopes of finding the engagement ring he had spent weeks of choosing and inspecting to see if it's up to par with your beauty.
He returned moments later, trying to look composed but with chip crumbs still stuck to his shirt, you let out a giggle at his appearance. He slowly got down on one knee, finally holding the ring, though he was panting slightly from his rush. "Will you marry me?" He asked once again, this time with the proper prop to ask you.
You couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of the situation, he struggled to untangle the ring from the box. "This isn't quite the Aurora Borealis," you said between giggles. Soshiro's eyes widen at your words, flustered when you said that and he knew you found his supposed plan for the proposal.
"You saw that?!" You only chuckled at his obvious flustered expression, noding your head as he sighed, finally freeing the ring and getting down on one knee beside the coffee table. "I know, I know..." He stared at the ring and back to you, there were still crumbs of cheese from the chips on your lips, and he couldn't help but to chuckle at the sight.
Bring your legs down on the floor as you prop your elbows on your knees, eyeing his appearance and at the ring that shimmered under the TV light. The two of you were only wearing your cozy attire, you know yourself that you're a mess right now. The strands of hair falling from your face and the lazy, messy bun you put up hours ago surely is a mess right now.
A smile formed on your lips, this wasn't the proposed you were expecting from him. But, somehow, this feels the perfect proposal for you. Lounging on your shared apartment on a rest day, watching romcom and eating unhealthy food. You couldn't help but to laugh at that, tears brimming in your eyes as the realization finally dawned on you.
"So, what do you say?"
Still laughing, you nodded, tears of mirth in your eyes. "Of course, I will!" You said, you would be a fool to decline his proposal. Soshiro wasn't the only one waiting for such moment to happen, you've been waiting for him to ask you the question that you keep hearing from the romcoms you've watched and seeing from the novels and books you've read.
Soshiro smiled at you, with shaky hands, he took a deep breathe as you presented your left hand to him. The smile on hie face hurts from how hard he was grinning, showing off his fangs as he successfully inserted the silver ring in your ring finger. He stared at the sight in front of him for a few seconds before he got up and hugged you.
You smiled warmly against his chest, looking at the beautiful ring on your finger. A smile of content on your lips as you pull away from the hug, before grabbing your own bowl of chips and picking up a cheese ring from it, you look at him with glee in your eyes as you grab his left hand.
"I was actually planning on proposing to you instead," you chuckled, putting the chip ring on his ring finger. "If you hadn't done it yourself." Soshiro shook his head, a smile playing on his lips as he looked down at you. He glanced at the makeshift ring, a chuckle escaping him before he sat down beside you.
"I would have loved to see that," he muttered, his fingers gently lifting your chin. His eyes sparkled as he gazed at you, seeing the emotion in your glassy eyes. He still couldn't believe that in a few months, you would be married, forever linked to each other.
Soshiro leaned in closer, his breath warm against your skin. Your heart pounded as the space between you dwindled. Finally, his lips met yours, soft and warm, sending a thrill through your entire being. The kiss deepened, full of promise and unspoken words, each moment sealing the bond between the two of you.
You felt his hand move to the back of your neck, pulling you even closer. Your hands found their way to his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart under your fingertips.
Minutes seemed to stretch into a blissful eternity. The world around you faded away, leaving just the two of you in that perfect moment. His lips moved against yours with a tenderness that made your heart swell. You parted slightly, taking a breath, your foreheads resting together.
"I can't wait to spend forever with you." He whispered as he looked at you with full of love and admiration in his eyes. His voice was husky and you can hear the sincerity in his tone as you leaned your face on his hand.
"Forever sounds perfect."
♡︎༄,'; ALSEPHINA'S NOTE:
INTOXICATED! this is just the proposal! I really think that Soshiro wouldn't proposed in a crowded place, to not pressure you and for the moment to be more intimate and be sentimental to the both of you. so, this scene came up to my mind while reading some head cannons to find inspiration and motivation to write!so.. should I write the wedding? (that was the plan once I hit 1k followers hehe)
