JEWEL chapter one
☼𓇼࿐ ࿔*:･ﾟ☼𓇼࿐ ࿔*:･ﾟ☼𓇼࿐ ࿔*:･ﾟ Serena was suntanning while laughing at the pictures Belly sent of Steven driving.
"How much longer?" Serena texted. "30 more minutes!" Belly replied. Serena couldn't wait any longer. She decided to hop into the pool to make time pass.
She swam laps back and forth but eventually decided to sit underwater.
Serena loved the water. She loved how quiet it was and how she could think about whatever without getting distracted. Once when she was younger, she spent all summer training herself to be able to stay under for a long time.
Sitting under the water, she began to think about her mom's secret. She didn't want to let it ruin her summer. Yes, she was dying inside, but she wouldn't show it. She needed to be strong, especially for Conrad.
Her lungs began to scream at her for air, so she swam back up. As she broke the surface, she heard her mother shout. "They're here!"
She swam to the wall, climbed out of the pool, then grabbed her towel and wrapped it around her waist.
She ran to the front of the house. She saw Jeremiah hugging Steven. She ran past them toward Belly and pulled her into a hug. Belly squealed, squeezing her back.
"I missed you so much!" Serena smiled. She grabbed Belly's face to get a good look at it. "Oh my gosh, you're so hot." Belly blushed, rolling her eyes.
"I missed you too." Belly grinned. Belly went to go hug Jeremiah, and Serena walked over to Steven.
He pulled her into a hug. "It's good to see you." He mumbled into her hair. She pulled back to get a good look at him. "Good to see you too," she grinned. He smiled patting her head and excused himself to go greet Susannah.
Serena walked to Laruel giving her a big hug. "Look at you." Laurel spoke cupping her face. "You've grown so much." She frowned. Serena smiled. "Have to do it sooner or later." She joked. Laurel laughed squeezing her cheek.
Serena looked over to Belly and Conrad and saw they were having a moment. So she decided not to interrupt.
The boys decided it was time for a belly flop. "Serena, help me, please!" Belly screamed. Serena just laughed and yelled out a "Sorry!" as she walked back inside so she could change out of her swimsuit.

"Sea!" Belly called out. Serena put down the clothes she was folding sticking her head out the door. "Yes?" she questioned Belly. "Come to the beach with me and Jere?" Belly asked giving her puppy dog eyes. "Ugh, I just changed out of my bathing suit, though." Serena sighed while pouting. "Please!" Belly begged giving her a grin. "Fine, I'll meet you down there," she sighed, giving in.
Belly squealed happily and walked away. Serena quickly changed back into her bathing suit then grabbed a fresh towel before running downstairs to meet them. They began their journey down to the beach.
"Did you guys know my dad's coming up for the fourth?" Belly questioned. "Cool," Jeremiah said. "Don't you think it's weird?" She pressed. "Not really; I love your dad." Jeremiah grinned
"Why would it be weird, Bells? Serena asked. "I don't know; they've only been divorced for like a year and a half." Belly sighed. Serena zoned out of the conversation after that.
They arrived at the beach, and Serena didn't wait for them and just ran into the ocean. After going back up, she looked over and saw they were still standing there. "Come on!" She shouted.
Belly ran to the ocean. Jeremiah followed quickly after. They all played around and wrestled until it was time to head back.
