JEWEL chapter five
☼𓇼࿐ ࿔*:･ﾟ☼𓇼࿐ ࿔*:･ﾟ☼𓇼࿐ ࿔*:･ﾟ
Everyone was in the living room giving Belly her birthday gifts. Her mom had given her a book, and Jeremiah gave her a charm for her charm bracelet. Steven gave her a sweatshirt, and Susannah gave her pearls.
It was Serena's turn, but she didn't have her gift yet. "I'm so sorry, Bells, but my gift won't be ready until later today." Serena explained. "It's okay, don't worry about it, I can wait." Belly smiled in understanding.
"Conrad, do you want to give Belly your present?" Susannah asked. "Uh, sorry, I forgot." He lied. Serena knew that was a lie; he showed her the necklace he got her earlier that day. She scanned over him with her eyes, trying to read his mind.
"Oh, uh, that's cool." Belly spoke awkwardly. "I gotta go." Conrad excused himself and wished Belly a happy birthday while exiting the room. "Hey, why don't we take my car and practice driving before you have to pick up Taylor?" Jeremiah spoke trying to diffuse the tension.
"Yeah sure." Belly agreed, pulling Serena with her on her way out of the room.
Jeremiah was instructing Belly as she drove the car. Serena was in the back middle seat playing games on her phone.
"You exticed to see Taylor?" Jeremiah asked. "I'm not." Serena joked, not even glancing up. Jeremiah swatted at her leg in response. "Yeah, of course, so excited." Belly smiled not very convincingly.
"You sure?" Jeremiah questioned scanning the girls face. "Look, she's my best friend in the whole world." Belly began getting a sad "Hey" out of Serena still not looking up. "But, I mean, you know how Taylor is. I guess I just always feel like the supporting character around her," she explained.
Jeremiah gave her some comforting words as she accidentally served the car, sending Serena's phone flying out of her hand. "Damnit, I was about to beat that level!" Serena groaned, slumping back in her seat pouting.

The three were standing at the bus stop waiting for Taylor. "Twenty bucks says she calls your Jeremy again." Belly betted. "No, I think she learned from last time." Jeremiah said."You think?" Belly laughed. "That's how she flirts."
"Here she comes." Serena sighed watching as Taylor came running out of the bus holding balloons. She ran up to Belly and gave her a hug. "Belly, you little Tart! You took my advice; this outfit is snatched." She smiled looking her up and down.
"Oh my god, Taylor," Belly muttered, embarrassed. "Isn't she looking like a snack?" Taylor asked. "Of course." Serena chuckled while Jeremiah said, "Always."
"Uh, here, let me get your bags," Jeremiah offered. "Thanks Jeremiah." Taylor spoke. That caused Belly to raise her eyebrow she never got Jeremiah's name right.
