"Can bullet kill a fallen angel?"
Kuoh Town, Late Evening
The moon hung high in the sky, casting a pale glow over Kuoh Town. The streets were quiet, save for the occasional rustle of leaves and the distant hum of cars. In a secluded park, a young man named Issei Hyoudou stood facing his date, Raynare, who he knew as Yuuma Amano.
Issei's heart raced, his mind flooded with excitement and nerves. His first date had gone better than he could have ever imagined. But as the evening drew to a close, a sense of unease settled in his gut. Something was off.
"Issei-kun," Yuuma said, her voice sweet but carrying an underlying edge. "Can you do something for me?"
"Of course, Yuuma-chan," Issei replied, his voice eager but laced with apprehension.
"Could you die for me?"
The words hit Issei like a physical blow. Before he could react, Yuuma's form shimmered and shifted, revealing her true identity as Raynare, a fallen angel. Black wings unfurled from her back, and a cruel smile twisted her lips.
Issei stumbled backward, fear gripping his heart. "W-What are you talking about? This has to be a joke, right?"
Raynare raised her hand, forming a spear of light. "I'm afraid it's not. Goodbye, Issei."
As she prepared to strike, time seemed to slow. Issei's mind raced, filled with regret and desperation. Was this really how it was going to end? In a desolate park, killed by a fallen angel? His life flashed before his eyes, every unfulfilled dream and unspoken word weighing on him.
But just as Raynare thrust the spear forward, a sharp, thunderous crack split the air. Raynare's eyes widened in shock, and the spear dissipated as she crumpled to the ground, a single, clean bullet wound in her forehead.
Issei fell to his knees, gasping for breath. He looked up to see a figure emerging from the shadows, the moonlight glinting off a handgun in his hand. The figure stepped into the light, revealing a young man with a cold, determined expression. His dark hair and piercing eyes gave him an air of authority and danger.
"Who...who are you?" Issei managed to choke out.
The young man holstered his gun and approached Issei. "Name's Toji Fushiguro. Looks like I got here just in time."
Issei's mind whirled with confusion and relief. "Thank you...you saved my life."
Toji nodded curtly. "Don't mention it. Just stay out of trouble from now on."
As Toji turned to leave, Issei struggled to his feet. "Wait! Why did you help me?"
Toji paused, glancing back at Issei. "Let's just say that was my job."
With that, Toji disappeared into the night, leaving Issei alone with his thoughts and the lifeless body of Raynare. The weight of the night's events pressed down on him, but one thing was clear: his life had taken a drastic turn, and nothing would ever be the same again.
The Next Morning, Kuoh Academy
Issei trudged into Kuoh Academy, the events of the previous night replaying in his mind. His encounter with Toji Fushiguro felt like a surreal dream, but the reality of Raynare's attack was undeniable. The school day seemed to pass in a blur, his thoughts consumed by questions and uncertainty.
During lunch, Issei's friends noticed his distracted state. "Hey, Issei, you okay? You seem out of it," Matsuda said, concern evident in his voice.
Issei forced a smile. "Yeah, just didn't get much sleep last night."
Before the conversation could continue, the classroom door slid open, and a teacher entered, followed by a new student. The room fell silent as everyone turned to look.
"Class, we have a new student joining us today," the teacher announced. "Please welcome Toji Fushiguro."
Issei's heart skipped a beat as Toji stepped forward, his expression as stoic as ever. Their eyes met briefly, and Issei could see a flicker of recognition in Toji's gaze.
As Toji introduced himself, a ripple of whispers spread through the classroom. The girls in the class began to murmur excitedly, their eyes fixed on the new student.
"He's so good-looking!"
"Such a cutie! I hope he sits near me."
"I wonder if he's single..."
Toji gave a brief nod to the class. "I'm Toji Fushiguro. Nice to meet you all."
As Toji took an empty seat near the back, Issei's mind raced with a mix of relief and curiosity. The man who had saved his life was now a part of his everyday world. What did this mean for him? And why was Toji really here?
Issei couldn't shake the feeling that this was just the beginning of something much larger and more dangerous than he could have ever imagined.
That Evening, Toji's Apartment
Toji sat on the edge of his bed, cleaning his handgun with meticulous care. The events of the previous night played on a loop in his mind. Saving Issei had been a spur-of-the-moment decision, but it felt like the right one.
A knock at his door interrupted his thoughts. Toji set the gun aside and opened the door to find a small, suitcase on the floor. He picked it up and brought it inside, curiosity piqued.
Opening the suitcase, Toji found it filled with bundles of cash. On top of the money was a note. He unfolded it, reading the message inside:
"Toji Fushiguro,
Part of the reward for a well done job. The rest awaits you at the coordinates below.
- A"
Toji's eyes narrowed as he read the note. He had been careful to keep a low profile, but it seemed someone had noticed his skills and was willing to pay handsomely for them. The offer was tempting, a chance to return to what he knew best. But something about this world was different, and he couldn't shake the feeling that his path was about to change in ways he couldn't yet foresee. Especially this weird winged girl that he eliminated and her energy attack.
He glanced out the window at the town below, the lights of Kuoh Academy glowing in the distance. He had a new life here, and perhaps a new purpose. But the shadows of his past were never far behind, and Toji knew that his journey was only beginning.
