Chapter 26: The Battle at Kuoh Academy

Evening, Occult Research Club

Saji entered the clubroom, his expression urgent. "Rias, the Sitri peerage has placed a barrier around the school to contain the damage. We need to act quickly."

Rias nodded, turning to Sona. "Should we call our siblings for help?"

Sona considered it for a moment before Akeno interjected. "I've already contacted Sirzechs Lucifer. He and his reinforcements should arrive in about an hour. We need to stall until then."

To everyone's surprise, the door opened, and Issei and Asia Argento walked in. "We heard from Xenovia what's happening," Issei said. "We live in Kuoh Town too. We want to help."

Rias nodded gratefully. "Thank you, Issei. We'll need all the help we can get."

School Field, Kuoh Academy

As the Gremory peerage arrived at the school field, they were shocked by the sight of Valper Galilei attempting to fuse the Excalibur swords together. The aura of holy energy was palpable, creating an oppressive atmosphere.

Kokabiel floated above, his wings spread wide, exuding a menacing presence. "Welcome, Devils. You're just in time to witness the beginning of a new war."

Without warning, Kokabiel summoned a massive Cerberus to fight the Gremory peerage. The monstrous three-headed dog growled menacingly, ready to attack. As Rias, Akeno, and Koneko moved to engage the first Cerberus, another one leapt towards Issei. Xenovia intervened, slicing through the beast with a single, powerful strike.

Issei activated his Gift ability, increasing Rias and Akeno's powers. The enhanced power allowed them to unleash devastating attacks against the Cerberus, while Kiba restrained its movements with his demon swords. The Cerberus finally succumbed to the combined onslaught of demonic power.

Rias then launched an attack on Kokabiel, who easily blocked her assault. The Fallen Angel smirked, clearly enjoying the battle. "Is that all you've got, Gremory?"

Toji, watching the scene unfold, decided to act. He charged at Kokabiel, his Sacred Gear Void Reaver glowing with dark energy. "You're not getting away with this, Kokabiel!"

Kokabiel blocked Toji's attack with ease, chuckling. "Another one? You Devils are amusing."

Toji gritted his teeth, pushing against Kokabiel's blade. "You think this is a game?"

Before Kokabiel could respond, Toji noticed Issei in the corner of his eye, fighting alongside the Gremory peerage. The surprise was evident on his face. "Are you the same Issei? You are much stronger now!"

Issei, still focused on the battle, shouted back. "No time to explain! Just keep fighting!"

Kokabiel took advantage of Toji's momentary distraction, striking him with a powerful blast of energy. Toji was thrown back, landing hard on the ground but quickly recovering.

Meanwhile, Valper continued his work, the Excalibur swords glowing ominously as he attempted to merge their power. "Soon, the ultimate weapon will be complete," he muttered to himself.

Akeno unleashed a torrent of lightning at Kokabiel, but he deflected it with a flick of his wrist. "Impressive, but not enough to stop me."

Rias, seeing an opening, launched a barrage of demonic energy at Kokabiel. He was forced to dodge, giving Toji and the others a brief respite.

Issei, with his Sacred Gear now fully awakened, joined the fray with renewed vigor. He and Toji exchanged a quick nod, silently agreeing to work together.

Battle Intensifies

The combined efforts of the Gremory peerage and their allies began to show some effect. Kokabiel, though powerful, found himself pressured by the relentless assault. Koneko used her incredible strength to land heavy blows, while Akeno's lightning strikes kept him on the defensive.

Toji, now fully utilizing his Sacred Gear, Void Reaver, unleashed a series of dark energy blasts, forcing Kokabiel to retreat slightly. "You're stronger than I expected," Kokabiel admitted, a hint of respect in his voice. "But it won't be enough."

Kokabiel then summoned a massive spear of light, hurling it towards the group. Issei, reacting quickly, used his Gift ability to boost everyone's power. "Let's take him down, together!"

The spear was intercepted by a combined attack from Rias and Akeno, shattering it mid-air. Toji and Kiba followed up with a coordinated strike, aiming for Kokabiel's wings. The Fallen Angel deflected their attacks, but the force pushed him back.

Valper's Downfall

As the battle raged on, Valper continued his work, successfully merging the Excalibur swords into the Fused Excalibur. Kalawarner, wielding the newly formed weapon, stepped forward to challenge the Gremory peerage.

"You won't get away with this," Yuuto declared, his eyes filled with determination. He and Xenovia cooperated to fight Kalawarner, their combined skills putting up a fierce fight.

Valper watched with a sneer. "It's amusing to see you struggle, Kiba. Your comrades were nothing but lab rats to perfect my Holy Sword research."

He tossed the last Light Container, revealing his ability to mass-produce them. Yuuto, overwhelmed with grief, was encouraged by the spirits of his fallen comrades that emerged from the Light Container. Empowered by their support, he achieved his Balance Breaker: Sword of Betrayer, allowing him to create Holy Demonic Swords.

With his new power, Yuuto fought on par with Kalawarner. As Kalawarner focused on Yuuto, Xenovia summoned Durandal from its alternate dimension. With a powerful swing, she shattered the Fused Excalibur. Yuuto seized the moment and further shattered Excalibur, defeating Kalawarner.

The destruction of the Fused Excalibur caused Valper to panic. "This can't be! The ultimate weapon...!"

Valper's realization that God had died during the Great War was met with his swift betrayal and execution by Kokabiel. The Fallen Angel then taunted Rias and dared her to attack him. With her powers enhanced by Issei's Boosted Gear, Rias unleashed her enhanced Power of Destruction, but Kokabiel blocked it effortlessly.

Kokabiel's Revelation

The members of the Gremory peerage and Xenovia continued to fight Kokabiel, their determination unwavering. Kokabiel, however, chided them for their persistence. "You continue to fight, even after losing your master. Pathetic."

He revealed the shocking truth: both the Original Four Great Satans and God of the Bible had died in the Great War. The revelation stunned everyone, and Asia collapsed from the shock.

Seeing his new friends in despair, Issei's determination burned even brighter. "We can't give up now! We have to protect Kuoh Town!"

Issei's words rallied the group. Toji, despite his initial surprise at seeing Issei's strenght, felt a surge of respect for him. "He's stronger than I thought."

With renewed resolve, they launched another attack on Kokabiel. The barrier containing the battle showed signs of weakening as their combined efforts began to take a toll on the powerful Fallen Angel.
