Abandoned Warehouse, Outskirts of Kuoh Town

The eerie silence of the warehouse was punctuated by the occasional drip of water from a leaky pipe. Toji Fushiguro stood over the bound and unconscious form of Freed Sellzen, his eyes scanning the room for any signs of danger. The katana Freed had wielded lay nearby, its strange energy still faintly pulsing.

Toji knelt beside Freed, slapping him hard across the face. Freed groaned and slowly regained consciousness, his eyes darting around in confusion before settling on Toji.

"Morning, sunshine," Toji said, his voice icy. "We're going to have a little chat."

Freed struggled against his bonds, his eyes narrowing. "You won't get anything out of me, demon lover."

Toji's expression didn't change. He grabbed a nearby chair, turning it around and sitting on it backward, facing Freed. "Let's start simple. What do you know about the supernatural activity in this town?"

Freed spat on the ground, his defiance palpable. "Why should I tell you anything?"

Toji leaned in, his eyes cold and unyielding. "Because if you don't, I'll make your last moments very painful. Or you can tell me now and make it quick. Your choice."

Freed hesitated, clearly weighing his options. After a long moment, he sighed. "Fine. What do you want to know?"

"Everything," Toji replied. "Start with the basics."

Freed took a deep breath, glaring at Toji. "This town, Kuoh, is a hotspot for supernatural beings. You've got devils, fallen angels, exorcists like me, and who knows what else lurking around. The big players are the devils, though. They're organized into peerages, with each devil having their own group of followers."

"Who's in charge?" Toji asked, his interest piqued.

"Rias Gremory," Freed said reluctantly. "She's a high-ranking devil and the heir to the Gremory family. Her peerage is powerful and controls most of the territory around here."

Toji absorbed this information, filing it away for later. "And what about you? Why are you here?"

Freed's eyes darkened. "I'm here to kill demons, devils, anything that doesn't belong in the human world. My orders come from higher up, but that's all you need to know."

Toji considered this for a moment. "And the sword? What makes it special?"

Freed smirked. "It's imbued with holy energy, designed to kill supernatural beings. A little gift from my superiors."

Toji stood up, grabbing the katana and examining it closely. The weapon hummed with a strange energy, clearly more than just an ordinary blade. He could feel the power coursing through it, a tool that could be useful in this new world.

Satisfied with the answers, Toji turned his attention back to Freed. "Thank you for your cooperation," he said, his tone flat.

Freed's eyes widened in realization. "Wait—"

Before Freed could finish his sentence, Toji pulled out his handgun and fired a single shot into Freed's head, ending his life instantly. The sound of the gunshot echoed through the warehouse, then silence fell once more.

Toji holstered his weapon and picked up the katana, tucking it securely into his backpack. He left the warehouse, blending into the shadows of the night.

Later That Night, Warehouse

The warehouse was now a crime scene, the smell of blood and gunpowder lingering in the air. A group of devils, led by Rias Gremory, arrived to investigate. Rias, with her striking crimson hair and commanding presence, surveyed the scene with a mixture of curiosity and concern.

"Spread out and look for clues," Rias ordered her peerage. "We need to find out what happened here."

Akeno Himejima, Rias's queen, knelt beside Freed's lifeless body, examining the wound. "It's a clean shot to the head," she noted, her voice calm. "Whoever did this was efficient."

Kiba Yuuto, Rias's knight, picked up the shell casing from the ground. "A handgun was used. Unusual for an exorcist."

Rias frowned, her mind racing with possibilities. "Freed was a loose cannon, but he knew how to handle himself. Whoever killed him must be skilled."

Koneko Toujou, the rook of the group, sniffed the air. "There's a strange scent here. Someone was definitely here recently."

Rias stood in the center of the room, her eyes narrowing as she pieced together the clues. "We need to find out who did this and why. Freed might have been an enemy, but his death could mean trouble for all of us."

As her peerage continued to search the warehouse, Rias couldn't shake the feeling that this was just the beginning of something much larger. And whoever was responsible for Freed's death was now on her radar.
