CHAPTER 25: We know..?

3rd Person POV
Carlisle did indeed leave to tell his family of what was going on, meanwhile the 4 shifters were chatting freely as Bella had her shield up, even when she was bed ridden.

A few hours had passed and it was time for the 3 of them to leave but stopped by Alice. "I.. need to talk to you.. o-or one of you, i.. know something.." Alice fiddled with her fingers. Which made Sam raise in eye brows in surprise, he remembered Alice being the bubbly and out going person, admittedly he was one of the Cullen he genuinely liked as a person cause she was friendly to them.

Sam and Reyna looked at each other. What did Alice mean when she said she knew something? What did she know? Bella's identity?

"Of course, would like to come with us?" Reyna asked as Quil looked baffled, why were they buddy-buddy with a leech? He couldn't do anything but pout and sigh. Bella was part-vampire but that wasn't her fault at all. This was Bella's mate though, so his face softened a bit as he sighed again.

They got off at Bella's house, they were allowed in it anytime. Alice got off the back and sniffed the air. It reeked in a good way, it smelled like Ella.

Alice walked slowly as she followed the wolves inside, the smell of Bella around the house comforted her immensely. "Please sit, make yourself comfortable." Reyna said as Alica sat on one of the single chairs, fidgeting with her thumbs. "We wish that you don't tell your family, not until she's ready." Sam spoke, Alice nodded along. "Of course! I don't think they'll take it too kindly." Alice sighed, running her hand through her spiky hair.

"Yeah, they most likely won't, but please don't be mad at her, I'm sure you understand." Reyna added. Alice pursed her lips. "I mean yeah, I kinda do? It's a little complicated but she had no control of it."

Quil nodded. "And you better protect her, she's been through shit and we don't her getting hurt again." Alice raised her eyebrows. "Again?" She asked confused. "Yeah.. again." Reyna was also confused. "Wait we're talking about Ella being Bella right?" Quil asked.

Time stopped for Alice, as her heart felt heavy, her grip on her own skin got tighter. "E-ella is Bella?" Her voice came out slightly doubtful. Reyna and Sam looked at Quil with the; 'We're fucked.' face.

"We thought that's what you meant by you knew!" Quil's voice raised a pitch or so. "No!! I meant I know she imprinted on me!!" Alice's hands combed through her hair as her eyes darted around the floor in confusion. "So uhh, don't tell Bella we told you, please, I'd rather have my head on my shoulders." Sam sighs and rubbed his temple. The silence was defeaning but it gave Alice enough time to gather her thoughts, she nodded her head slowly. "Can I ask questions?"

Reyna and Sam looked at each other and shrugged, hoping they weren't complicated questions. "Shoot."

"Why is Bella still hiding and is her story true?"

Sam pursed his lip, rubbing his chin like a grandpa before opening his mouth. "We don't know what her motives are, closure? I'm not sure, and that second part is not my right to answer, only Bella can answer that for you." Alice sighed, disappointed, she wouldn't get answers from them and every time she looked into Ell- I mean - Bella's future, nothing, it's all fog.

"Okay."

The three looked at each and cringed. Oh dear Lord, save them. "But what we can confirm is Bella imprinted on you." Reyna spoke which made Alice perk up. "R-really? You're not.. messing with me, are you?" Alice eyed them slightly suspicious as Reyna shook her head. "We have no reason to."

"I just hope she's okay." Alice muttered. "Carlisle wouldn't let us see them." She added at the end, leaning down on her palm while her eyes bore into the mahagony floor. The 3 wolves didn't know what to say so they stayed quiet, the tension increasing, but to Alice, it was enough that she wasn't getting talked over, being talked for her, or them disregarding everything said, now that she wasn't as loud and optimistic as she was before.

"I can assure she's alright, just put into bed rest is all." Reyna reassured and Alice let out a sigh of relief, closing her eyes for a bit, weight getting off her shoulders. "I appreciate y'all talking to me." Alice nodded her head
