3rd Person POV

It was a regular day at the reservation, no vampire dilemma, no -

"Reyna!"

Welp, there goes that regular day down the gutter. Paul was standing in front of the alpha packhouse, where the Black family took residence.

"What does he want now?" Bella groaned as she tore her eyes off her book. "Shh." Sam scolded but he too looked up from the newspaper. "Something important I assume." Reyna stood up from the couch, leaving her laptop on the coffee table as she went outside.

"Definitely the first." Bella muttered but Sam shot her a scolding yet amused look.

"I want to become the alpha, and I want to fight for it!" Paul's voice was loud, unnecessarily loud. Sam stood up growling as someone dared to challenge his wife. Reyna huffed as she crossed her arms.

"A fight you want, a fight you get, you've got the balls to challenge me." Reina growled. Paul growled back. Bella raised a brow, it was weird watching humans growl and actually intimidate people.

"How can I not?! Ever since you of all people became the Alpha, this entire pack has lots its sense of masculinity." Paul spoke bitterly. Bella shuddered at the wording. "I'm getting the ick." She gagged.

"Watch your tone." Sam walked outside, his glare hard and threatening, Paul gulped but remained grounded. "Fight me." He scoffed.

"Oh no." Reina crossed her arms. "You're gonna have to work up your ranks." She mused, looking at her husband with a sly look, Sam raised his brows and nodded. "What is that supposed to mean?" Paul's tone remained bitter and dismissive.

"To truly become alpha, you must fight and defeat the entire Alpha lineage." Sam explains. "Or in short, fight the youngest to the oldest. Fight Bella."

Bella sprung outside, yelling. "Why am I getting dragged into this?!"

---
Bella panted, her fur stained with grime and dirt as she refused to back down, her teeth baring down at Paul, she may be the youngest of the Black Family but certainly not the weakest.

'You are a sad excuse for a wolf shifter.' Bella spoke, her voice booming through the pack mind as Paul panted, he was determined to become the alpha. 'No, you people are! You imprinted on a woman!'

That made Bella growl even more. 'And that's your problem?!' Paul sprinted full speed to Bella but this time, Belle did not back, she started sprinting and bit down on Paul's neck, not enough to hurt, but enough to have a good grip, she pushed Paul to the ground as Paul let out a yelp.

'I would rather die than bow down to the likes of you.' Bella stomped on Paul's body, keeping him in place. The rest of the pack howled at the fight, clapping and cheering, it was entertaining.

'Surrender.' Bella glared down at Paul, who was struggling to get up. 'Never..' He let out a grunt. As a response, Bella dug her paw harder, making Paul whine. 'Alright, alright! Jesus..' With that, Bella released Paul.

"Winner! Isabella black!" Emily, assigned to be the referee, called out. Bella shifted back into a vampire panting slightly as she hissed at Paul before turning around and walking away, as if on cue, her phone rang.

The name of the caller ID, making her day brighter and better. She picked up immediately.

Ella.

Right. None of the Cullens knew, except Alice herself and Carlisle.

"Ali, I'm glad you called." Bella's voice was gentle, filled with love and admiration that surprised even herself.

Would you like to come over? Emmett asked me to invite you, we're having a family brawl.

"Should I be worried?" Bella chuckled, albeit a little nervous. Alice's monotone voice brightened slightly.

No. It's just us wrestling each other.

Bella thought about it for awhile, she didn't have anything to do today anyways. "I'll go, when should I come over?" Bella placed a hand on her hip, maybe she could have a rematch with Emmett and maybe she'd let him win just this once.

Maybe in an hour or two. I...

There was a small pause, making Bella furrow her brow.

I miss you.

Bella's heart beat rapidly in her chest as her stomach did involuntary flips. She didn't know whether she loved the mate thing or not. It wasn't as if they were together, together, they just..

Recognized the connection they both had.

"I miss you too." Bella found herself smiling, a big wide and happy smile. "I'd love to join you."

Great. I'll see you later..

With that, Alice hung up. Bella felt something churn in her stomach. It was if Alice was hiding something from her.

"Oooohhhh, little Bella is leaving the nest." Bella felt someone lean on her, placing an arm on Bella's shoulder, Bella's eye twitched as she knew who was teasing her mercilessly.

"Shut up, will you? It's the mate bond talking." Bella shrugged Leah's arm off her shoulder, making Leah bark a loud laugh. "Am I not allowed to be excited? Haven't seen you smile like that, like, forever." Leah, despite Bella's reaction, couldn't help but continue her teasing.

"Shut upppppp." Bella groaned.
