// Jade //
I sat with Carol on the bed in the cell Daryl had brought us to. I held a cup of water in my hand shakily, gripping on to it so I didn't drop it. Carol jumped up at the sight of Rick, pulling him into a hug. I rose to my feet, closing my eyes to let the dizziness fade away. Turns our, all I needed was some food, water, and sleep to get my energy back up to its normal level. I smiled to Rick and hugged him, "Thank God." he was whispering, "How?" Hershel ask, limping over to Carol to hug her, "Jade." she laughed, hugging his neck, "Jade helped Carol into a small cell." Daryl spoke up. I mentally nodded, realizing what we were in was actually bigger than I thought, "Jade passed out. Both we're dehydrated. Jade was shot." I looked at Beth, who held a baby. I smiled, "Can I hold her?" I smiled, thinking back to my own unborn baby. Beth handed her over. I looked to Rick to ask him where Lori was, but I knew better. She was gone. I sighed and looked back at the baby in my arms, "Hi there, sweetie." I cooed. I let a tear slip for Lori, handing the baby back to Beth. I limped over to Rick, "I'm sorry." I whispered, pulling him in for a hug. He rested his head on my chest, letting out a few sobs.I followed Rick and Hershel out with Daryl by my side. There sat a black woman, "We can tend to that wound for you, give you a little food and water, and then send you on your way. But you're gonna have to tell us how you found us. and why you were carrying formula." it took a moment for her to answer Rick, "The supplies were dropped by a young Asian guy with a pretty girl." my heart stopped, "What happened?" Rick ask, keeping calm, "Were they attacked?" I stepped forward, almost falling. Rick held me upright as I stood in front of the woman, "They were taken." she said through gritted teeth, "Taken? By who?" I ask, my heart pounding, "By the same son of a bitch who shot me." she growled, "Hey, these are our people." Rick said, bending down to her level, "You tell us what happened now!" Rick grabbed her gunshot wound, making me hiss at the imaginary pain, "Don't you ever touch me again!" she shouted. I looked back to see Daryl holding his crossbow at her, "You'd better start talking." Rick said, pacing the floor, "You're gonna have a much bigger problem than a gunshot wound." Daryl grunted, "Find 'em yourself." she spat. My faith started slowly slipping, "Please. I'm begging you. That Asian man? He is the father of my unborn child." her eye contact never broke with Daryl, "Daryl! Put the damn crossbow down!" I warned, seeing him slowly drop it, "You came here for a reason." I said, looking eye to eye with her, "There's a town. Woodbury. About 75 survivors. I think they were taken there." she responded to me, "A whole town?" I ask her, holding my hand out to Rick who had stepped forward. She obviously responded better to me than to Rick, "It's run by this guy who calls himself the Governor--pretty boy, charming, Jim Jones type." she explained, "He got muscle?" Daryl ask, "Paramilitary wannabes. They have armed sentries on every wall." she said, "You know a way in?" I ask her, losing more and more hope of finding them by the second, "The place is secure from walkers, but we could slip our way through." it was silent for a moment, "How'd you know how to get here?" I ask her, beginning to chew on my nail, "They mentioned a prison, said which direction it was in, that it was a straight shot." I nodded to myself, "This is Hershel," Rick motioned to him behind me, "the father of the girl who was taken. He is going to take care of you and Jade's wounds." Rick explained, then walked away.
"How do we know we can trust her?" Oscar ask, "This is Maggie and Glenn. Why are we even debating?" Beth countered, "We ain't. I'll go after them." Daryl offered, "Well, this place sounds pretty secure. You can't go alone." Rick explained, "I'll go." I offered, "Me, too." Beth spoke up, "Me three." Axel offered, "I'm in." Oscar said, "Jade, I don't think you're up for this." Daryl looked at me, "Hershel sewed me up! My energy levels are fine. The baby will be fine, too." I pleaded, "Fine. Just stay with me." Daryl sighed, mumbling something about stubbornness.
"I got the flash bangs and I got the tear gas. You never know what you're gonna need." Daryl said as I slipped my hair into a tight ponytail. I straightened up my shirt and continued to load things into the back of the car. I was walking and talking with Beth, then climbed into the backseat of the car after telling Beth goodbye and receiving a couple of 'be careful's'.

Rick pulled off onto the side of the road a little ways away from Woodbury. We all got out, "They have patrols. We're better off on foot." the woman said, "How far? Night's coming." Rick said, looking up at the sky, "It's a mile, maybe two." she said, turning to see a walker coming our way. We avoided it and walked into the woods. As we walked, I heard Daryl muttering about 'getting down'. I turned to ask why then saw the horde of walkers coming our way, "Get in formation. No gunfire." Rick said. I pulled my machete and sliced on. One after one, we took them out, "There's too many of them." I said to Rick, noticing more and more of them file in, "This way." Rick pointed after killing one. I followed, slicing the ones that got too close. We ran out of the area quickly, my stitches beginning to itch and burn, "Through there. Come on." Rick semi-shouted, pushing his way to a cabin. We burst in, looking around carefully. I slammed the door shut, barricading it with whatever I could find. The woman helped me push a barricade over the door. The men were going on about the smell when it hit me. I cover my nose, ripping my bandanna out of my back pocket, wrapping it around my mouth. I pulled my machete and trailed after Daryl, "What the hell is that?" I heard Oscar ask, "It's got to be a fox or what's left of one." Daryl said, walking up on the figure in the floor. Rick shinned his light on the 'thing' and I about threw up. It was a dead dog lying on a carpet, it's teeth bared, "I guess Lassie went home." Daryl said sarcastically. I hit him on the shoulder lightly, reaching down to cover up the dog with the rug it was laying on. I jumped when walkers started pounding on the door. We were all watching the door when Rick whistled softly. Daryl and I crept over to where Rick was going. Then, I saw the big lump on the bed under the blanket. Rick jerked up the blanket and a man jumped up, "Ah! Who the hell are you?" he shouted, "We don't mean any harm." Rick tried to plead with him. The walkers were riling up outside, "Get outta my house!" he shouted, "Okay, okay, okay. We will, but we can't right now. " Rick whispered, "NOW!" he screamed, "Shut him up!" I hissed, "Get out right now!" I wanted to knock him slick out, "There are walkers outside." Rick held his hands up to him. The man walked around at everyone in the room who had their weapons drawn. My pistol was getting slippery in my hands, "I'll call the cops!" he threatened, "I am a cop." Rick countered. I started to think this man didn't know anything that was going on, "Now I need you to lower the gun." Rick pleaded, putting his weapons down on the floor, "Don't do anything rash. Everything's fine. Let's just--let's just take this nice and slow, okay? Look at me. Hey, hey." Rick put his hands in the air. The man cocked the rifle, "Show me your badge." the man demanded, "All right. It's in my pocket. It's in my pocket." Rick repeated, "Now, I'm just gonna reach down nice and slow." Rick said. As he reached down, he smacked the barrel of the gun up. The man fired and Daryl dodged the bullet, "Let go! Let go of me!" the man shouted. People were shouting and I glanced back at the door. The man ran past me and opened the door, "DON'T OPEN THAT DOOR!" I shouted. I cursed and ran up to the man, stabbing him in the back with my machete. I wiped my blade clean on my pants, getting intensely started at by everyone in the room. Daryl peered through the cracks. I heard the wood begin to break, "Remember the Alamo?" he ask, "Help me with the door." Rick said, "You've gotta be kidding." Oscar said, "He's dead. Check the back." Rick ordered. Rick and Daryl lifted the body off the ground, "It's clear." Oscar said, "One, two, three." I slung the door open and Daryl and Rick threw the body out, then shut the door behind him. Once Daryl locked the door, we all snuck out the back and around without being noticed.It was dark when we made it to Woodbury, following the woman we still hadn't learned the name of. We made it to the front and I spotted the guards. We all watched closely as the guard with the light stepped away, leaving it unattended. I looked from Daryl to Rick, wondering when we were going in.
-------
We sat there, watching the small community until that woman ran off, "Hey! Hey!" Rick whispered, "Damn it." he muttered, watching her walk away, "All right, we need to downsize." Rick said, trading off weapons, "Ain't no way we're gonna check in all them buildings, not with all them guards there." Daryl said, studying the surroundings. I held my pistol in my hand, making sure my rifle was secure on my back and my machete was tightly strapped on my hip as the men done the same. A twig snapped behind us, making Oscar, Daryl, Rick, and I turn and point our guns. The woman was standing there, then pointed behind her. I looked at Rick for guidance, "All right, let's go." Rick whispered, following her out and around the back side of the building.We followed the strange woman into the back door of what looked to be a storage building. I softly shut the door behind me and followed the group, "This is where you were held?" Rick ask her, "I was questioned." she defended, "Any idea where else they could be?" I ask her, walking to the front. Daryl looked out the window, "I thought you said there was a curfew." he rolled her eyes at her, "The street is packed during the day. Those are stragglers." she explained, "If anyone comes in here, we're sitting ducks. We gotta move." Rick peered outside the opposite window, "They could be in his apartment." she suggested, "Yeah? What if they ain't?" Daryl responded. I just wanted Glenn back, "Then we'll look somewhere else." she said through gritted teeth, "You said you could help us." Rick paced, "She's doing what she can, Rick!" I hissed, "Then where the hell are they?" Oscar spat, "Hey." Rick whispered to us, motioning us aside, "If this goes south, we're cutting her loose. " Rick said, looking back at her, "You think she's leading us into a trap?" Oscar ask, "Right now it's the blind leading the blind." Daryl said, looking to Rick, "Let's split up." Then there was a soft knock on the door, then keys jangling. I stumbled to go hide behind a stocked shelf, "I know you're in here." a man's voice sounded, "I saw you moving from outside. All right, now. You're not supposed to be in here and you know it. Who's in here?" his voice got cut off when Rick shot out from the curtains he just walked past. He put his pistol to his head, "Shut up. Get on your knees. Hands behind your back. Zip tie him." Rick looked up at Daryl once he wrestled the man to the ground, "Where are our people?" Rick ask, "I don't know. I don't know." the man repeated, "You are holding some of our people. Where the hell are they?" Rick demanded, "I don't know!" the man cried. Rick studied the mans face, "Open your mouth." Rick grabbed some kind of rag and put it in the mans mouth while Daryl knocked him out, then they drug the man away.
All of a sudden, we heard shooting. Glenn, I thought to myself. Rick cracked the door open, slowly stepping out. We made our way to where we heard the shooting. We found ourselves down in a what could be a bunker. Some places were rusted, some were not. I held my rifle in my hands as I walked behind Daryl. Rick stopped short, making me step on Daryl's heel. Once Rick started moving again, crouching against a wall, I heard a voice I thought I recognized. I glanced to Daryl to see if he heard it too. After a minute of the voices talking, they were headed out way, "Shit." Rick muttered, pulling out a flashbang and smokebombs. He pulled the pin on both and threw them. There was shouting and coughing so we knew it had worked. We ran in the direction as I aimed my weapon. I didn't know what to do. I grabbed onto Daryl, following him out as shots were fired at my back. Glenn had to be in the group somewhere, but I didn't have enough time to find out if he was with us or... I shook off the feelings and followed the group out.
We ran through the streets, myself in the back of the pack, watching for any threats. I still had yet to take a took look at our group, "Inside, quick!" I heard Rick. I took one last look around, allowing everyone to get inside. With one more glance to make sure no one saw us, I fluttered inside. The woman slammed the door in my face, staying outside. I turned around to see Glenn lying on the floor. Maggie looked up at me, bursting into tears, "Jade?" she ask, getting up and running over to me. I could feel Glenn's eyes on me. After Maggie's hug, I ran over to a beat-up Glenn, "Glenn, baby." I muttered in his hair. His hands fell weak on my back, "You're alive." he whispered, obviously in pain,"Of course I am. I always am." I said. He smiled weakly, placing his hands on my back and kissing me.
