Cassandra
Cassie stared at her reflection. Her eyes swollen and dull from all the crying. Her eyes trailed over her frame, small bruises were forming on her hips and inner thighs.
Jerrod wasn't gentle at all the night before and the proof was starting to show itself on her skin. With a shaky breath she turned away from the mirror after a lone tear dropped.
'Today will be a good day Cass, just don't do anything to upset him.' She thought to herself as she walked to the tub and began to make a bubble bath. As she laid in the warm water her thoughts went to Damien. She needed to figure out how to get him away from Jerrod.
Sure their relationship wasn't perfect but she knew Damien would fight for her and that's more than likely the reason he was in this situation now. With a huff she managed to clean herself, being carful to not press too hard on the tender areas of her skin. She was on high alert so she didn't miss the sound of the suite door opening.
"Kitten, where are you?"
She closed her eyes briefly before answering. She knew she couldn't wait too long to respond.
"In the tub." She spoke softly, but loud enough for him to hear.
Jerrod walked into the bathroom looking crisp and refreshed in his crisp white athletic shirt and grey joggers. He leaned down near the tub and placed a soft kiss on Cassie's forehead.
"How are you feeling?" He asked as his thumb softly caressed her lips.
"Okay" She answered while keeping full eye contact.
"Sore?" He questioned and she nodded.
"I brought you some Tylenol." He said as he stood up. "Take it after you get finished bathing. Breakfast is ready so don't take too long." He said before walking out of the bathroom.
Cassie quickly finished her bath and got out of the tub. After moisturizing her skin, she slipped on her black lace underwear that Jerrod got her and slipped the white silk robe over her body.
She released her curls from her bonnet and fluffed them slightly as the kinky curls fell past her shoulder. She walked out of the bathroom to find Jerrod sitting on the patio with the food laid out on the patio table.
He noticed her presence and stood to his feet. He softly grabbed her hand and walked her around the table, pulling out her chair. She said a silent thank you as she sat down. Overlooking all the food, she had started to realize how hungry she was. She didn't eat much at the reception, she was too distraught to have an appetite.
Jerrod grabbed her plate and began to load it with eggs, home fries, sausage, toast and a medley of fruits. He sat it in front of her before placing the thin mimosa glass in front of her.
"Eat. You didn't eat much yesterday." He commanded.
Cassie silently ate her food while Jerrod fixed his plate and did the same. His phone went off, signaling he had a message. He opened it and grimaced slightly. Cassie slightly furrowed her eyebrows at that, but she didn't say anything. He quickly typed back and stood to his feet while wiping his mouth.
"Get dressed we will be leaving here soon."
"Where are we going?" Cassie asked softly.
"To my parents. My aunt has come to town."
.
.
.It was midday by the time they made it to his parents estate. If she thought Ethan's house was big, the O'Connors was even bigger. They were greeted by a man as they entered the house.
"Your parents are in the living room sir." Jerrod nodded as he kept Cassie's hand tight in his. He was tense which was surprising to Cassie, she had never seen him like this before.
They made there way into the living room where she saw Jerrod's parents and two other ladies sitting and talking. They were clearly mother and daughter.
"Ah there he is, our son and his beautiful wife." His mom spoke with a warm smile.
Cassie gave a closed lip smile. She didn't care for Jerrod's parents. They knew everything he did to her and they still protected and enabled him.
The two women walked up with smiles on their faces, however, Jerrod's grip on her hand grew tighter. She looked up at him and noticed he kept a stoic expression on his face.
"Hello, I'm Jerrod's aunt Mary. It's so great to meet you." She said as she pulled her into a hug.
Cassie let out an uncomfortable laugh as it was awkward since Jerrod still hadn't let go of her hand. Once his aunt released her, he pulled her even closer to him.
"This is my daughter and Jerrod's older cousin Anna."
Cassie gave her a polite smile which she returned it before quickly glancing at Jerrod. She didn't try to hug Cassie and she was grateful for that. The way Jerrod had her next to him was going to make it impossible anyway.
"Long time no see little cousin." Her tone was strange, and Jerrod seemed to tense even more before he mumbled a low 'yea' and swiftly dragged Cassie to the back of the house.
Once outside, he let go of her hand and she let out a relieved sigh as she softly massaged it. He gripped the railing as he looked out to the large land behind the mansion. Cassie watched silently as he closed his eyes briefly, taking in a deep breath and then slowly exhaling.
"Come here, Kitten." His voice was soft which surprised her. She walked up to him and instantly he wrapped both arms around her, his head rested atop of her own.
"We aren't staying long." He said as he slightly squeezed her.
She nodded to let him know she understood. He was acting strange, it was obvious he didn't care for his aunt or cousin and Cassie found herself being curious as to why.
"Jerrod, come on so we can eat lunch." His mom said as she came out the large sliding doors.
"We're not staying mom, we have plans."
"Oh you can sit and have a sandwich, Jerrod. Cassandra can have a nice salad and then you can leave. Your aunt and cousin flew all this way to see you, don't be rude."
She said the last part in a hard tone before turning back into the house.
'What if I wanted a sandwich?' Cassie thought to herself as Jerrod reluctantly pulled her back into the home.
.
.
.Lunch was interesting to say the least. Anna tried making small talk with Cassie but soon stopped after Jerrod sent her a sharp glare. The air was tense, like everyone else knew something she didn't.
"I'm sorry we missed your wedding yesterday. It happened so quickly."
"You weren't invited." Jerrod said in an apathetic tone.
Cassie's eyes widened as she turned her head to look at him. He held Anna's gaze with a fury. So much so that Anna excused herself from the table.
"Jerrod! Don't be rude to your aunt!" Mr. O'Connor scolded.
"Oh please Dad, let's not act like we all don't know that I don't give a fuck about them."
"Now you listen-"
"No! You listen! I didn't want to come here. Everyone here knows the only thing that will give me joy is snapping Anna's neck. Which you won't allow me to do. So me and my wife will be leaving now."
Cassie flinched slightly as Jerrod grabbed her arm and pulled her to the front door. His parents nor his aunt said a word and Cassie felt it was probably for the best. At the moment, Jerrod looked ready to kill. Her nerves spiked as he slightly pushed her into the car. Hopefully she wouldn't have to be at the receiving end of his rage.
I know it took forever. Next update won't be so long.
