Sapphires

I know a bunch of obscure scientific facts. For example, courtesy of one of the what if? books (I can't remember which one), I know that sapphires can stay solid at temperatures of up to 2,000°C, AKA 3632°F, and the temperature of lava, according to Brittanica, is usually between 1,300 to 2,200°F. This means that sapphires can stay solid at temperatures hotter than lava. I tried to look up the average temperature of fire, but I got contradictory results.

Okay, now we're going to get into the KotLC stuff.

The buildings in Eternalia are made up of many different types of jewels, including emeralds, diamonds, and presumably sapphires.

My question for Shannon Messenger, is: Did the Everblaze fire in Everblaze destroy the sapphire buildings? If so, then that would mean that Everblaze is over 3500 degrees. If not, then why was that never mentioned? And why didn't the Council hold the healing in a building made out of sapphires? We know they've got one.

Though I guess they took pretty terrible safety precautions, especially not having frissyn on hand. Honestly, that's an obvious precaution. I mean, you can find fire extinguishers in all sorts of buildings that will probably not get set on fire. Would it really have been that difficult to get some frissyn? If the Council had made some frissyn, Eternalia wouldn't have been half destroyed, Fintan probably wouldn't have escaped, and Kenric might have even survived. Can you think of any downsides to having frissyn on hand during the healing, because I sure can't. Yeah, it's pretty hard to make, but wouldn't it have been easier to make if you weren't being totally rushed because you had to finish it before the whole city got burned down? Are the Councilors stupid? (Probably.)

Sorry, I got a little sidetracked there.
