Okay, just look. The Neverseen symbol is just an eye inside a circle. That is a symbol of a lot of things. Like, so many. If I look, I see that symbol right and left. The CBS symbol, the Wattpad reads symbol, and probably a bunch of other things I can't think of.
If so many things use that symbol, then why does the Neverseen do it? From what I can tell, they want to change the Lost Cities (though we don't know much about what sort of changes they intend). So why would they pick such a used symbol. I bet a symbol similar to the Neverseen symbol is on, like, ten elvin family crests.
Ooh, that's kinda interesting. What if the Neverseen symbol is on a family crest because it's based off that family crest because someone from that family started it. I don't think we know 100% who started the Neverseen. Do you know of any family crests that have a wonky eye thing on them? Or residences with a sight-related name, because some of the residences seem to be associated with the family crest (Fluttermont and Candleshade and maybe some more I can't remember).
Also, why is the Neverseen called "the Neverseen"? It could just be because they're keeping themselves secret from the Council, but I have an alternate theory.
Look at the Neverseen members that we have some sort of a backstory for. Brant and Fintan were/are Pyrokinetics and you know how much of a mess that was for them, Ruy was banished, Rayni's family had a lot of trouble with the matchmaking system.
They're all people who were wronged by the Lost Cities, but the Council and the Nobility (Is Nobility supposed to be capitalized or not? I'm not sure.) never saw the problems their policies were causing.
The Council never saw it, but they did. The Neverseen are trying to fix the problems that have never been seen.
In case you didn't figure this out by now, I'll just say it: I think the Neverseen are right. They are right that the Lost Cities are broken. They are not right about how to fix that, but they see the problems in the Lost Cities in a way that the Council doesn't.
The Neverseen are definitely not right about what to do. In fact, a lot of the Neverseen's plans actually made the problems worse. Remember when Mr. Forkle said something along the lines of: "Due to the actions of Fintan and Brant, most people trust Pyrokinetics less than ever." Which means that Fintan and Brant made the situation in the Lost Cities that they were most angry about, the very prejudice that led them to rebel, even worse. The Neverseen's methods don't work. Okay, they work for causing fear and chaos, but they don't help to fix any of the problems that the Neverseen members were wronged by.
Therefore, the Neverseen see the problems that the Council is ignoring, maybe even better than the Black Swan, but they're finding all the wrong solutions. Like, maybe someone went through the Neverseen's dictionary and changed the definition for "solution" so it was "something that makes the problem worse and even more convoluted."
This chapter went all sorts of places. Sorry. I think too much about the Neverseen.
