ZAHRA NICHOLS

It was media day at Imola, and the paddock was alive with the usual buzz. Journalists, team members, and drivers moved through the narrow walkways, each focused on their own tasks. I walked through the chaos with my press badge swinging around my neck.

As I was walking, my eyes landed on a familiar figure standing near the Ferrari garage. Charles. His back was to me, but I'd recognize that stance anywhere. Broad shoulders, casual yet somehow always ready. He was deep in conversation with a team member, his face serious and focused.

I couldn't help but wonder what had happened in those few years we were apart. How had he changed, and what had driven him to this point?

"Zahra!" A voice pulled me from my thoughts, and I turned to see Hansen, one of my colleagues, waving me over. "We've got an interview with Verstappen in ten minutes. You coming?"

"Yeah, I'll be right there," I replied, forcing a smile.

I met Wesley in the most unexpected way—a chance encounter at a quaint café in  North Hollywood. He was an architecture student with a charming smile and curly brown hair a few tables away from me. We hit it off instantly when he asked for my name, and before I knew it, we were running around the city together, exploring every hidden corner. One evening, we got caught in a sudden rainfall and hid in a cozy bookstore. We spent hours there, laughing and talking about everything under the sun. It was one of those magical moments that felt like something out of a movie. From that day on, we've been inseparable. I also started writing for my university's paper, finding a new sense of purpose and direction in my work. The thrill of seeing my byline in print was exhilarating, and it fueled my passion even more. I poured my heart into my work, covering everything from campus events to in-depth features, and the positive feedback I received only encouraged me to push further. Writing became more than just a hobby; it became an huge part of my identity and a stepping stone to my future career.

2019 - CHARLES LECLERC

My first date with Francesca was nothing short of spectacular. She was a model, insanely captivating, gorgeous, and we hit it off right away. We decided to keep our relationship private at first, understanding the pressure that came with our public personas. On the career front, 2019 was a milestone year for me. My first season with Ferrari brought incredible highs, with wins in Spa and Monza that felt like dreams come true. The win at Spa was especially significant as it marked my first win in this sport. Monza, on the other hand, was a fairy tale; winning in front of the Tifosi, Ferrari's passionate home crowd, was an indescribable feeling. The roar of the fans, the sea of red, and the sheer adrenaline of those moments were unforgettable. Having Francesca by my side, even in secret, made it all the more special.

2020 was a pretty huge year for me. I launched a YouTube channel and quickly became sort of an influencer, gaining a following that I never imagined. My content focused on student life and my journey as an aspiring reporter, which resonated with a lot of people. I started receiving PR packages and brand deals, which was surreal. My writing career also took off as I joined a small, up-and-coming sports news website while dabbling in fashion journalism, thanks to my reputation for having an apparently amazing sense of style. I decided to return to my natural brunette hair color after two years of being a blonde, feeling more like myself than ever before.

Francesca and I decided to go public with our relationship, and it felt like a weight had been lifted off our shoulders. No more sneaking around or worrying about prying eyes—we could finally be ourselves in front of the world. The media buzzed with excitement, and I was happy and at peace. Professionally, however, it was a challenging year. I didn't secure any wins, which pushed me to get a more competitive mindset. The lack of wins was frustrating, but it also caused my determination to improve. Francesca was my rock during this time. She attended races, offering her support and cheering me on from the sidelines. Her presence brought a sense of calm amid the storm and chaos. I was determined to come back stronger, not just for myself but for the team and for Francesca, who stood by me through it all.

Turning 21 was a milestone that came with new opportunities. I took on a role managing a fashion account on Instagram, writing pieces and handling content. It was thrilling to merge my passions for journalism and fashion. At school, I became the editor-in-chief of the university's paper and started hosting and reporting events for our broadcast program. My life was a whirlwind, and I loved every minute of it.

Francesca and I became the "it couple" in the eyes of the public. Everyone adored us, and our relationship thrived under the spotlight. We bought a new apartment in Monaco, a symbol of our growing commitment to each other. Everything was going great—both in my career and personal life—and it felt like we were on top of the world.

Graduating from university was a huge achievement. Wesley and I moved into an apartment in downtown LA, we're still renters, but it's nice to finally have a place of our own. I landed an internship with Fox Sports, covering football. With the World Cup happening that year, I was booked and busy. My popularity soared as I gained more visibility in the industry. I started dressing a bit more professionally, and even chopped my hair short, embracing a new, more mature look. Life was moving fast, and it was great.

2022 - CHARLES LECLERC

It was a remarkable season for me, with wins in Bahrain, Australia, and Austria. In our eyes, Francesca and were simply living our lives. But in the public eye, we were unstoppable, with way too many photos of us circulating online. We don't mind though. She graced the cover of Vogue, and we both became brand ambassadors for a high fashion brand. Our relationship was strong, and I was hitting my stride, making it a year to remember.
