"To become a rebel... it means to directly oppose an authority, and do everything possible to reject what such authority believes in. However...
(_Mom: It's fine, if you don't want to be a martial artist, I'll let you quit.)
What happens when the authority both acknowledges you and accepts that you rebel against it? If that happens, can you really keep calling yourself a rebel?
AND IF YOU'RE NO LONGER A REBEL, THEN WHAT ARE YOU EXACTLY?
Through the former narration, Chie is seen back on the beach, as she contemplates the comet far above in the dark night.
_Chie: What am I supposed to do? All I know how to do is fight bullies, and I can't do that forever... Then what? Be a police officer like mom suggested? (silence)...Hm... Eh? Wait, wait a minute, what the hell am I thinking? I AM THE ONE supposed to decide for my future, not mom! If I pay attention and listen to her, then I'm not really making decisions on my own! GOD DAMMIT, MOM, NOW I CAN'T BE A POLICE OFFICER! Waaaagh!
Chie furiously scratches her head and swings it back and forth, cartoonishly.
_Chie: Dammit, dammit, dammit! To hell with everyone, I don't want to hear anything! Not from mom, the teachers, those assholes at school, and SPECIALLY MY FATHER! Everything is his fault, ITS' ALL HIS FAULT! He blinded me, he made me spend all my life training and learning how to punch and kick. But what am I even supposed to do with that anyway in this day and age?! This ain't medieval Japan for fucks sake, martial arts are useless! FUCK! FUUUUCK!
Chie's aura fires up and punches the ground with her right hand, creating a shockwave that clearly spreads all the sand and rubble around her. As she pants out of stress and frustration, she slowly regains her sanity, now kneeling. Silence fills the scene, but her aura remains fired up.
_Chie: I'll be someone new, something I've never been before, I want to be able to stand tall, and tell everyone "This is who I am". After all, it was me... all me... it was ME who decided to change my haircut, I decided to wear a long skirt, martial arts hand wraps, and always carry my gold medal when I go to school! And no one, absolutely no one, can deny it was MY decision, MINE, ONLY MINE, I...
Suddenly, a shocking revelation crossed Chie's mind, leaving her perplexed and silent. She stares at her chest, and thinks about her gold medal, the same gold medal that she won at the World Karate Tournament. Flashbacks start appearing in her mind of the event.
_CHIE: WAIT A MINUTE, IF I WANT TO BECOME SOMEONE NEW, THEN WHY AM I ALWAYS CARRYING THAT GOLD MEDAL?
The revelation cracks something in Chie's mind. As she progressively gets angrier and her hands shake, her aura burns stronger and begins to expand, about one meter away from her. She's charging up!
_CHIE: WHY, WHY MUST LIFE BE SO COMPLICATED?! WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!
Her aura fires up into the sky, almost like a beam is being shot, and it reaches as far as 20 meters high, until finally it reaches its limit, and the flame that is her soul calms down. After a pause, Chie clearly got tired after that scream, and decides to lay on the ground face up, once again staring at the infinity of the sky.
