S2 #9: The Hisawa Family

The story goes back to the abandoned high school, where Rui is still channeling a big aura sphere at the tip of his wand, aiming at the ghost at the opposite side of the demolished classroom. Rui is staring at the ghost, daringly, as it still tries to stand up. His aura keeps flowing into the sphere, as the ghost body slowly crawls his back at the wall to stand on her feet, and the floating head rises once again in the air.

THE HEAD BURSTS OUT EVIL ENERGY! RUI SHOOTS!

RUI: FREEZING BEAM!

From his sphere, multiple rays shaped like electricity burst out towards the ghost. THE RAYS CONNECT! The ghost is pushed against the wall, as it tries to fight the freezing energy, but the mass of aura and ice slowly immobilizes her. As the beam continues, the giant aura sphere Rui once charged, begins to diminish as well, until it finally runs out and disappears. Rui falls to the ground! He's super exhausted, like he tried to lift a ton over his head. He raises his eyesight, and sees how THE ENTIRE CLASSROOM HAS BEEN COVERED IN ICE.

The ghost now rests immobile against the wall, covered by at least one meter of thick dense ice. The confrontation is over.

_Rui: (Yikes, I over did it, I feel like I just used all power on that attack.)

_Chie: Ngh...

Chie still lays on the floor hurt, she didn't move at all. In rush and panting, Rui stands up to approach her.

_Rui: Ishikawa-san, you ok?!

_Chie: No, of course I'm fucking not... Ugh, my head, my head hurts, and I can't open my eyes... Ugh... This might be a concussion...

_Rui: Really?! ... But if that's the case... Is there anything I can do to help you? Even if it's something minor, I can-

_Chie: Just leave me alone for a moment will you? I hit the window way too hard, I need some time to put myself together, at least until I can walk again...

_Rui: Uhm, Su-sure, if you say so...

A brief pause occurs, but shortly Rui sits down on the floor, next to Chie, who still doesn't open her eyes.

_Rui: Uhm... You know, Ishiwaka-san ... I... I want to apologize, for everything...

_Chie: Ah?

_Rui: I-I mean, haha, maybe I seem like a weirdo to you but... I just felt like I wanted to get closer to you... Ever since your spiritual energy increased, I started wondering if you and I could be friends...

_Chie: What the... What the hell are you saying?

_Rui: It's just that I have no friends who can use aura, you know? So you know, I've always wanted to be close to someone with whom I had something in common...

_Chie: ...You really like saying weird stuff, don't you?

_Rui: Eh? But like, have I not been clear? Did I just say something wrong to you?

_Chie: Nah, whatever, at least you're honest, so why not?

A spark shines inside Rui, knowing he finally made the friend he always wanted.

_Rui: ... Ah... Ahahaha, thank you, I'm really thankful, Ishikawa-san!

_Chie: But in return, I want to ask you a favor.

_Rui: Oh yeah, sure sure! For you, anything!
