A couple training sessions with Kono had passed and she was so much better than that self-defense class I took with Mary in LA.
**STEVE POV**
I was sitting in my house able to see to the backyard where Kono and Cali were training. Kono wasn't going easy on her at all.
"So, explain to me again why you are okay and advising Kono to basically beat up on Cali?" Danny asked and I took a swig of my beer.
"Because since that guy is around her all the time and left bruises on her arm, I want her to be able to protect herself if need be." I explained.
"Wait...he left bruises?!" Danny snapped.
"Yeah, faint ones but enough of a bruise." I said and I knew Danny was seeing red.
"Okay that's enough for now..." I heard Kono say and they started to head to the house.
**CALI POV**
I was very much aware of Steve watching me train with Kono and I wasn't sure why. I knew he trusted Kono but why was he insistent on watching?
"Okay that's enough for now." Kono said as I was panting. I smiled. "I've taught you all I can. We will just do some refresher courses every once in a while." Kono said and I nodded.
"Sounds good. Thanks for this though. It was nice having girl time even if you were trying to kick my ass." I laughed.
"Don't get much girl time?" Kono asked and I shook my head.
"Only when Grace is over."
"Well girl time with Grace is awesome, but you need adult girl time." Kono said as we reached Danny and Steve.
"Adult girl time?! What is happening?" Steve asked.
"I was just about to ask Cali if she wanted to go out with me tonight. I was going to be hitting up this new club so it's a night full of girl talk, dancing and drinking. You in?" Kono asked and I smiled.
"Hell yeah!" I exclaimed.
"Alright well Kamekona already insisted he drive me, so I didn't drive. We will pick you up at 8." Kono said and I nodded. She gave me a quick hug and then waved to both guys and left.
"You seriously think it's safe to go out tonight?" Steve asked as I walked into the kitchen to get a bottle of water.
"Why wouldn't it be? I mean I need sometime out of the house other than just work or hanging out outside with Grace." I said. "No offense Danny." I said and he shook his head.
"None taken. I think you should go out." Danny said. Steve shot him a glare.
"No, she shouldn't." Steve said and I groaned. I walked right up to Steve, bodies inches apart.
"Please stop being big brother and just let me go out and have some fun." I looked up at him as he was looking down at me. "Also, fun...you should try it sometime." I patted my hand in his chest and then walked away to go upstairs. Steve took a deep breath and then went to sit down.
"You want to be her big brother or something more?" Danny asked. Steve didn't say anything and just went back to doing what he was doing before.
