It was the last night of my aunt and uncle in town. They had met Kamekona, Danny, Grace and Rachel. They wanted to meet everyone. Steve even took them on a tour of Five-0 letting them meeting Chin, Kono and Grover.
I was in the kitchen with my aunt making side dishes while Steve and Stan were out cooking on the grill and talking.
"So, I have to say, you being in Hawaii, it looks like you belonged here all along." Pauline said and I smiled.
"I felt that way after I came back from being in LA for dad. It was like I missed home and home was here. It had nothing to do with Steve just I missed here." I explained.
"Well Hawaii looks good on you. Along with you and Steve looking good together. We could tell over the video chats that there was something there but seeing you two together, it's like so much love." Pauline said and I smiled at him.
"He makes me happy, and I love him." I said and Pauline side hugged me as we went back to cooking.
**STEVE POV**
"This is a nice grill." Stand said and I nodded.
"Yeah, I wasn't sure if I was going to get this one or the smaller model since it is just Cali and I but we like having people over." I explained.
"Speaking of Cali..." Stan said opening us both new beers. He handed me mine and I smiled.
"Cali is amazing." I spoke up.
"She is and I have never seen her so happy as I do now that she is with you Steve. She has had a hard life and for a long time she played off being happy but the way she laughs, smiles and acts with you is like she was a kid. She has found a reason to be happy again." Stan explained. This made my heart leap into my throat just to hear.
"I know you guys were scared when she got shot but there was no way I or my team saw that coming..." I trailed off and Stan held up his hand stopping me.
"Pauline and I were scared and upset. We knew why you didn't want us down here, but you kept us updated and informed, and she did once she could. You took care of her Steve, and you didn't run. That takes a big man to do." Stan said. I smiled at him as I flipped the burgers.
"I will never run from Cali, I will never hurt her. Stan, I don't think it's a secret that I love Cali and I want to be with her for the rest of my life..." I trailed off and Stan just nodded.
"I can see that, Steve."
"Well, I just wanted to talk to you about the future...Cali's future...our future." I said smiling at Stan when he smirked at me.
"Just ask Steve." Stan said.
"Okay well, not saying it would be anytime soon but since I have you here and I want to do this face to face..." I trailed off and stopped working on the grill for a minute, to give Stan my full attention. "I would like your blessing for me to eventually ask Cali to marry me." I continued.
"I think I can speak freely for her aunt when I say, we only want nothing but to see Cali happy and she is happy and in love with you. I give you my blessing Steve." Stan said extending his hand to me and I shook it. He then clinked the neck of his bottle with the one in my hand. "Just don't make the wait too long Steve." Stan added.
I just smiled and slightly shook my head, "I don't really have a plan but once I get one, I will be proposing." I explained.
"Well, we can't wait to hear from you both with the news." Stan said and he shook my hand.
We heard the back door open, and Cali came walking out with Pauline laughing about something carrying bowls to put on the table.
**CALI POV **
"There is no way you guys knew about that!" I laughed.
"Oh, please Cali! You weren't exactly stealthy! You tripped coming in your room window. And then Tony wasn't any quieter." Pauline said.
"I'm sorry who is Tony?" Steve asked with a smile, and I shook my head.
"No one! Don't listen to these people telling you all these lies about me! I'm a perfect angel!" I said batting my eyelashes at Steve. I then walked over to him. He leaned down giving me a small kiss but then shook his head.
"Cali, I want to believe you but honestly...it's you." Steve said and we all laughed.
"Easy Steven or you will find yourself locked out of our room tonight." I joked. Everyone laughed again.
"Oh, she knows how to play the game!" Stan said and laughed. Steve pulled the burgers from the grill, and we headed to the table, all of us to sit down and eat.

The next morning, we took my aunt and uncle to the airport, and we were saying our goodbyes.
"Thank you guys so much for coming. I really missed you guys." I said as we all hugged.
"Well maybe next time you guys can come to the mainland, maybe around Christmas and New Year..." Stan suggested and without thinking I lifted a hand and started fidgeting with my necklace.
"I think that would be perfect. I would like to be with Cali during the visit this time." Steve said and I turned my head to look at him.
"Then it's settled. Let us know when you will be there." Pauline said and we nodded.
"I love you guys." I said as Steve put his arm around my shoulder, pulling me to him.
"We love you both too. Take care of her Steve." Stan said and Steve nodded.
"I plan on it." Steve said and we saw them gather everything up and walk away.
I sighed as they walked away.
"You going to be okay?" Steve asked and I nodded.
"I am. I got you." I smiled up at him as he smiled down at me.
"And I got you." Steve gave me a small kiss and we headed out of the airport.
