It was the night of the military ball and Steve insisted we get ready separately. I was in the nursery, and he was in the bedroom. Rachel was helping me do my hair and make-up as my dress hung on the door to the closet and I just looked at it.
"What going on in that head of yours?" Rachel asked as she put soft curls in my hair.
"I just don't know how I'm going to look in the dress. I know Steve says I look amazing, but he is my boyfriend and father of my child..." I said and Rachel smacked my arm.
"Girl, I wish I looked as good as you do after I had Grace. You will look amazing. You and Steve will have a good time tonight and not worry about Talia at all since she will be at my house with Grace and I." Rachel smiled and I smiled back at her.
"That girl of mine is going to think she has 2 moms." I laughed and Rachel nodded.
Once Rachel finished with my hair leaving it down, pinned to be swept to one side with a slight curl and make-up, we got me in my dress. It was a navy blue, strapless, floor length dress that had a diamond embellishment around the sweetheart neckline. Rachel helped me get my silver strappy heels on as I put on my earrings and necklace.
I looked at myself in the full-length mirror and smiled.
"Look at you hot mama!" Rachel said and we laughed. There was a knock on the bedroom door and Rachel opened it.
"Steve is downstairs and someone else was wanting to see her mom." Danny said holding Talia and I took her from Danny.
"I love you sweet girl. You be good for Auntie Rachel tonight." I said and kissed her cheek. I then handed her off to Rachel and Danny goofily offered me his arm to walk out of the room. I laughed, taking it and then walked to the stairs where I walked down alone.
I looked to see Steve standing in the living room holding his white hat under his arm and in his navy dress blues. I stopped in my tracks at the bottom on the stairs. I had never seen him in the dress blues before and I couldn't believe how hot he looked.

"Cali, you look...oh my god." Steve said.
"Me?! Look at you!" I exclaimed and found strength somehow to walk to him. He leaned down and gave me a small kiss.
"You look amazing." Steve said and placed his hands on my hips.
"I always wondered if you have a set of dress blues and now that I know you do...I have many fantasies running through my head." I whispered to Steve, and he growled.
"Okay you two! I want a few pictures! Trust me a night mom and dad can get dressed up rarely happen!" Rachel said handing Talia to Danny. Steve and I posed for some pictures, even one with Talia and then we went to leave.
"Let's take your car so you aren't trying to get in and out of the truck." Steve said and I gave a small laugh.
"Thank you." I said as we he opened my car door for me. He leaned in giving me a kiss before I got in and I smiled.
