22 - Group Chats & LA

I was leaving Hawaii today for the mainland to get back to LA for the anniversary of my father's death and to spend some time with my family and Mary for sure. Even though I had been living and staying with Steve even to now being with him I want to see the original McGarrett in my life.

I was holding Lieutenant Marshmallow before I had to leave and giving him all of the cuddles I could. I made sure he had food, water and his litter box was changed.

"I'm going to miss you buddy but be good for Steve, okay? I mean he is your superior officer." I said and Marshmallow meowed.

Steve left for work this morning after waking me up at 5am to have some going away/goodbye sex. He made sure I wasn't going to forget him while I was in LA. He just didn't know what would be coming his way later.

I heard the horn honk on the cab outside, I groaned putting marshmallow down on the couch where he promptly curled up and was falling asleep. I walked out to my cab after grabbing my suitcase. I told the driver my destination once I got in the car and I decided to call Steve and let him know.

The phone rang for a few rings and then it was answered.

"Hey Cali, You're on speaker phone in the car with me and Danny. We are on our way to a crime scene." Steve said and I gave a small smile.

"Well then fine I will tell both of you, I just got picked up by the cab and I'm on my way to the airport." I said.

"You will call me when you get in right?" Steve asked.

"Um scratch that, you will text me when you get back, so I know for sure!" Danny said and I laughed.

"Why don't I just make a group chat and text all of you when I land?" I sarcastically asked.

"I mean it may not hurt..." Steve trailed off being serious and I just huffed a laugh.

"Fine, I'll work on that. Um, I did want to let you know Marshmallow was sleeping on the couch when I left but he has been fed and has water and a changed litter box." I explained.

"Thanks Cali."

"Welcome."

"We just got to the scene, so we have to go but have a safe flight." Steve said

"Thank you."

"Don't forget to make that group chat!" Danny yelled getting out of the car. I just shook my head and hung up. I made the group chat as we drove the rest of the way to the airport.

Once we arrived, I got out of the car and headed inside quickly checking in and going to sit by my gate. I knew I was excited for this trip, and it was needed but I also knew I would rather just have stayed here with Steve and Marshmallow.

I pulled up the group chat that included Steve, Danny, Kono, Chin, Grover, Kamekona and Rachel since her and I had become friends.

Cali: Just to let you all know, I'm waiting at my gate at the airport. I will be back in about 3 days. See y'all soon!

Rachel: I forgot that was this weekend! Have a good flight and dinner when you get back.

Cali: For sure.

Kono: GIRLS NIGHT!

Rachel: Sounds even better.

Cali: Sounds like a plan. Chin let Malia know she is invited as well as Renee, Grover, you let her know!

Chin: Will do! Have a safe flight.

I heard them start calling for people to board the plane and since Steve upgraded me to first class, I was one of the first ones on the plane. I took a picture of myself once I got in the first-class seat. I sent it to the group chat.
