**STEVE POV**

Danny and I were driving away from the hotel, and he was just staring at me.

"What?! You're being creepy!" I announced.

"What was that?! You kissed Cali! And it wasn't like a first kiss! You two have done it before!" Danny freaked.

"Yeah...so..."

"That's all you have to say is 'yeah...so...' what the hell is going on Steve?!"

"It's not that big of a deal Danny. Cali and I have just been seeing each other quietly for a while because of the stalker and now I figured since he is caught, I can finally let everyone know." I explained.

"When did it happen?" Danny asked.

There was no way I could tell him Christmas and give him that satisfaction. He would be too cocky about it.

"Right before she was shot, when she got back from the mainland. I missed her and she missed me. We discussed it and we decided that fighting it was stupid. We knew with the stalker though we had to be safe." I explained and Danny just shook his head.

"You two together...it's about time." Danny said.

I just gave a small smile.

"We aren't making a big deal about being together. We are just enjoying simple dates and time together." I said.

"Wait, simple dates. You mean at home dates?" Danny asked.

"Yeah of course, we couldn't risk being seen." I answered. Danny scoffed.

"Wait...meaning you two haven't had an official date yet?" Danny asked.

"We have, just at home." I repeated, Danny shook his head.

"Steve, you need to take her out. A nice restaurant, maybe some dancing, wine...something nice. She deserves it with everything she has been through." Danny said. I just looked out the windshield knowing Danny had a point.

"We have plans tonight already but I will plan something." I said and Danny nodded.

There was silence and Danny then chuckled.

"What?" I asked.

"Just all the pushing I did to get you two together and all it took was her leaving, going to the mainland." Steve continued laughing. I just chuckled with him.

"Yeah, weird isn't it..." I trailed off.

We were silent for a few more minutes until we arrived back at headquarters. As we walked in everyone was looking at me and smiled.

"So, you all saw?" I asked.

"Well in all fairness I knew..." Kono said and I nodded. Everyone looked at her shocked.

"How did you know?!" Danny asked.

"I walked into the hospital room after she woke up  and I found them kissing." Kono said and everyone looked shocked.

"Wow..." Grover said, and we all laughed.

"But I think everyone can agree when I say it's about time." Chin said and everyone nodded.

"Alright let's get back to work." I said with a smirk and heading into my office.

I pulled my cellphone from my pocket.

Steve: Everyone here knows now. We are officially the news of headquarters.

Cali: Well until Danny does something stupid.

Steve: Very true so it may not even be for that long.

Cali: I love you and thank you for always keeping me safe.

Steve: Always, love you and see you tonight.

I put my phone back in my pocket knowing now that Cali and I would be able to live our lives without the worry of a stalker.

Later that night Cali had laid blankets out for us on the beach, and I was cooking on the small grill that I could set in the sand

Later that night Cali had laid blankets out for us on the beach, and I was cooking on the small grill that I could set in the sand.

"This is nice." Cali said drinking the sparkling cider I brought home. She couldn't have wine right now due to her pain killers.

"What? The sparkling cider?" I asked and we both laughed.

"No, I much prefer wine but just being here, with you. Dinner, beach, time together, not having to worry about Dylan...just us being us." Cali said as I leaned in and passionately her. She wrapped her good arm around my neck pulling her close to me.

"Hey, you know you haven't been cleared yet..." I grumbled not wanting to stop and she sighed.

"I know, I know...just, when I am cleared, you better watch out." Cali said and we both laughed.

"I can't wait." I told her giving her a wink.

After dinner was cooked and eaten, we walked inside. We are having some more of the sparkling cider, and I turned on the radio, so the Bluetooth played around the house. It was just some smooth jazz and I walked over to where Cali sat on the couch. I extended my hand.

"Can I help you?" Cali smirked.

"Come on, dance with me." I begged. Cali giggled, set her glass down then took my hand. I helped her up and then pulled her close to me as we swayed to the music playing. I leaned down placing my forehead on hers and closing my eyes.

"I love you." Cali whispered to me.

"I love you too." I replied and we just stayed like that. Holding each other, swaying to the music, eyes closed, just being with each other, the way we were meant to be.
