chapter 14

(Alicia's p.o.v)

After a very long horse ride we stopped to take a break, get some water,eat some food or go pee or whatever they wanted to do. Me on the other hand am on a short leash not literally one of the grounders is watching my every move like I'm going to run off even tho I told them I'd go with them willingly. "Ait let's get moving" I have a feeling we were moving now I walked back to Anya's horse and patted his snout 'sup boss' I heard his voice in my head making me roll my eyes 'stop calling me boss' I thought back 'sorry boss' I was about to reply when Anya said from behind me "you know he usually doesn't like new people" I shrug as I watched her get on her horse holding her hand out to me. I took it getting on the horse and wrapping my arms around her waist. She gave the command and we were off again. I leaned my chin on her shoulder "so where we going?" She glanced at me for a second and said "to polis". She said it like I should know where that is I just said ok and stared off into space. I started to get bored so I thought I'd count how many trees we passed but that got boring I ended on the number 169 when I thought about that time percy and I were on a road trip with our mom and a song we sang together popped into my head. I started to hum Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen quietly to myself until we got there Anya kept glancing at me the whole way there. As we got closer to the front gates she stopped the horse and looked at me " you dont have any weapons on you right?" I shook my head no well I do but they dont need to know that "ok so we have to tie your hands together in other words we have to take you in like a prisoner but as soon as we enter the building well take it off. Ok" I pulled away and put my hands together to my side where there was already a grounder to tie my hands. When he was done I held onto the back of her shirt so I didn't fall off. We started to move again and when we got to the front gate we all got off the horses to walk in. There was a lot of people walking by women,children, and others who stopped walking when we walked into the gates. They all stared at us well me they all stared at me. Some other group of grounders walked up to us and took the horses to the stalls and we were walking past these people to the building that looked familiar. I can't beilive its still up dam as we walked people started to shout something about my people I think. We were almost to the tower where someone blocked our way and threw a rock at me I brought my hand up and caught it before it could hit me in the head and dropped it on the ground. One of the grounder warriors tackled him to the ground we were already walking when that happened and as soon as we went into the building I saw the worse thing ever...an elevator fuck me I started to look for something else we could go up on like I dont know stairs maybe. I stopped walking as I was franticly looking around "what's wrong?" I looked at Anya with pure panic in my eyes "please tell me there's stairs" I asked her panic dripping from my voice she shook her head no "the stairs collapsed awhile ago this is the only way up and down" she said to me I groaned trying not to have a full blown panic attack right here "ok" they took the rope off my wrist before we went into the death trap machine. I leaned against the wall gripping the safety bars tightly in my hands. As I watched the doors close all I could see was the doors of death and started to see and feel the air of the pit all around me. My breathing started to get faster and faster I couldn't breath without seeing sulfur. So as soon as those doors opened I launched my self out of there and was in a hallway I sat down on the ground breathing heavily. "Alicia hey Alicia what's going on?" I heard a voice say but it sounded far away like an echo. I couldn't focus or breath I couldn't reply to her "ok give me a second I'll be right back" I just nodded my head as the memories of that place kept coming to my line of sight. I dont know how long I was sitting there but I heard two sets of foot steps running in my direction. Someone sat in front of me "hey hey I need you to look at me can you do that. Anya leave us" I heard someone leaving as I looked up to see a very blurry forest green eyes looking at me "hey that's good can you tell me 3 things you see" she asked me I shook my head closing my eyes "n-no i-i ca-cant" she shook her head placing her hand on my cheek making me look at her "hey its ok please try for me" I slowly nodded my head as I looked around "i-i s-see y-you,uh umm a-a ah wall, a-a-" I shook my head again letting out a quite sob "that's good one more please" I looked around threw blurry vision "a-a ca-candle" she smiled "ya that's good now can you tell me 3 things you smell" I tried to do as she asked but I could barely breath I shook my head no "its ok name one thing at a time your safe its ok" I took a breath in "I I umm vanilla?" I asked as I looked at her she blushed a little "good what else " I took another small breath in blood?" Why do I smell blood? Did I hurt someone I felt my breathing get faster as I panicked more "your hand is bleeding that's why you smell blood your nails must me digging into them. What else do you smell alicia" I looked at her again and "s-sm-oke fr-from th-e c-can-dle" she smiled wider "ya that's great now please tell me 3 things you could feel" I started at her "I feel your hand on my cheek" as I said this her thumb rubbed against my cheek "I feel the ground under my butt" I chuckled as I said this making her smile wider at me "and the wall against my back" I finished speaking now calmer then I was I relaxed opening my hands and wiping my tears that I didn't know were falling off my face "thanks" I said as I looked at her without the blurryness "hey I know you" I said to her making her chuckle as she stood up reaching her hand out for me I took her hand and she helped me up. "Ya you do you didn't let me tell you my name before running off" I chuckled rubbing the back of my neck "ya sorry bout that" she shook her head and led me to a room "its ok I'm lexa by the way but most people call me commander" I stopped walking confused "what I thought Anya was the commander" lexa looked at me shaking her head I looked around seeing candles like everywhere there was a desk in the middle of the room and a big bed against one of the walls. I looked back at her as she started to speak "I had her go meet your people just in case your people disided to attack" I nodded my head "that was a good idea I have a feeling if I wasn't there Anya might've been injured or worse" she nodded her head "so what happened out there?" I sat on her bed with her standing in front on me "not really a big fan of elevators" she looked at me funny "what's and elevator?" She asked me "that thing I came up in its called and elevator" she nodded her head "oh we call it a lift" I shrug she sat down next to me. We talked for a while till someone brought us dinner then she showed me to my room it was across from hers so she 'could keep an eye on me' her words not mine. I had a king sized bed against the wall along with other things but I wasn't paying attention I went straight to the bed and layed down to go to sleep as soon as my head hit the pillow I was out just to be sent into a nightmare.
