Cade headed down to the dining hall, eager to get back up to Callie. He got in line at the buffet, and wasn't too surprised when Dane came over to talk to him.

"How is she?"

"She's fine. She's here," Cade told him.

Dane's face registered his shock. "She is?'

"Yeah. I invited her back here and she agreed. She knows everything now," Cade told him quietly.

"Everything everything?" Dane asked.

Cade nodded. "And she's okay with it. Apparently her conversation with you earlier helped her make up her mind about becoming a wolf already."

Dane nodded, then his face broke out into a huge grin. "I'm glad. Calypso needs this. She needs you. Did you tell her about the emotions thing, after you mark her?"

Cade frowned. "No, I forgot about it."

Dane raised an eyebrow at him.

"I don't experience that all the time like you all do. I didn't think about it," Cade reminded him.

"You might want to tell her," Dane said with a smile before he walked away.

Cade frowned at his retreating back. Something like that might be a major thing for Callie. Why hadn't he thought about it? He felt himself deflate a little. Wouldn't it be ironic if that was the one thing that made her not want to be with him?

He quickly made them both a plate, hoping she liked it, then headed back up to his apartment and walked inside, immediately catching her scent. He smiled, breathing it in. Hopefully this would be his new norm. "Callie?"

She was still in his room and came down the hallway, smiling when she saw him. He sat the plates down on the table, then poured them drinks and grabbed silverware while she sat down. Her soft moan of approval made him smile.

"Cade, can I ask you something?"

"Of course," he said, his gaze on her.

"So you know that Dane came over after we went on our first date, right?" She sat her fork down.

"Yeah, I'm aware." He smiled. "I saw him a bit later and could sort of smell you on him."

She stared at him. "You could?"

He nodded. "Your scent is very strong for me, and very intoxicating. It's easy for me to pick out. If you went out in the woods to hide from me, I wouldn't have a hard time finding you."

"So no hide and seek, huh?" She grinned at him.

"Afraid not. You'd lose bad. Until you become a wolf. Then you'll have no problem finding me either." He sat his own fork down.

"Well, right before Dane left, he told me that Lexi was awake, even though he hadn't even looked at his phone. When I asked him how he knew, he said I should ask you." She leaned back in her seat.

Cade stared at her for a long moment, amazed she was asking him this when he'd just gotten ready to tell her.

"Do you know?"

He smiled. "I do, and actually I was planning to tell you. I had forgotten about it until I ran into your brother downstairs. He was a little concerned with how you were handling everything."

"Oh. I'm fine," she said.

He studied her quietly, wondering if she really was. She was relaxed though. Not tense at all, which made him calm. Well, sort of. "Callie, when you become a werewolf and you mark me, you'll have access to my emotions. You'll be able to feel how I'm feeling. That's probably how Dane knew Lexi was awake because he could feel her emotions."
