Trevor Atkins stood up from his seat and stretched. He needed to go to the gym and burn off some of the tension in his body. He'd been busy taking a class for the last few weeks online, learning more about computers.

Five hundred and thirty-two years he'd been on this earth, and from the moment he first heard about computers, he was hooked. He loved to read and educate himself and had taken every type of class he could. Then he'd gotten into the world of hacking. He could pretty much get into anything he wanted to and never leave a trace behind. He was damn good at it too, and he knew it well.

He left the computer room he spent most of his time in and headed down the hall to the gym. He'd run a few miles, then head upstairs for something to eat. The gym was busy, which wasn't a surprise, and Trevor found an empty treadmill and hopped on. He'd hit the punching bag and weights tomorrow.

And hour later, he had ran his fill and he left the gym and headed upstairs. The smell of Italian hit him the moment the elevator door opened, and he breathed it in deeply. He loved Italian food. He loved the smell of the spices. If his mate smelled like Italian, he'd be in heaven. If he ever found her.

It annoyed him to no end that he hadn't found her yet. He was one of the unlucky ones who'd been waiting for many years for his mate. Not as long as some of the others, but still.

Trevor headed down the hall and dropped off a file on Daniel's desk, then went back to the elevator. He needed to go take a shower before he ate. Then he'd probably go play some video games to waste away the afternoon. He was half tempted to see if he could find a new class to sign up for. He was bored out of his mind.

Trevor stepped on the elevator.

"Hold the elevator," called a voice.

He grabbed the door, stopping it from closing as a wonderful scent filtered under his nostrils. Cade, and his new mate Calypso stepped on, and Trevor eyed her quietly. She was a couple of months pregnant with Cade's pup. She wasn't really showing but Trevor could hear the pup's rapid heartbeat. He breathed in the interesting scent surrounding her and felt his wolf stir in his mind. 'Mate.'

Trevor stared at Calypso with a frown. There was no way she was his mate. She couldn't have two mates, and she wasn't paying the least bit of attention to him at all. He bit his lip. "This is going to sound weird, but have you been around another woman recently? Like, did she hug you?"

Both Cade and Calypso looked at him as the elevator came to a stop.

"We just saw her friend," Cade said, giving Trevor an odd look.

"She did hug me, too," Calypso said thoughtfully. "Why?"

"Because I think she might be my mate," Trevor told her.

Cade smiled and Calypso's mouth dropped open. "How do you know?"

"Because you smell amazing, and it got my wolf's attention. It has to be someone you were around," Trevor told her.

Cade frowned at him.

"I know she's not my mate," Trevor said with a laugh.

"Courtney's the only one that touched me. She's at work right now. She works at the grocery store in town," Calypso told him.

Trevor nodded slowly. "She's human."

"Yes, she is," Cade said.

"How late is she there?"

"Probably until four. That's her normal shift. She works in produce," Calypso said.

"Okay. I guess I'm going shopping." He was growing nervous which was sort of laughable. He never got nervous about anything.
